See, he's not a troll, and he follows the rules. So why would infractions be given? Yes, just another troll post from SoS. Shocking. Guess someone won't learn, so they are going to have to start being handed out those trolling infractions. ;)

By the way, are you lost? This isn't a Big Red thread.

Just pointin out the facts troll, just pointin out the facts.
I think any coach would rather build his team from a large male population. Several other facets go into this mix: program success, administration backing, fan base, etc.
Everything else being equal, let me pick my team from 1,000 boys and you pick from 150 and see who wins the matchups most of the time. The state board must feel this way also; or they would not have divisions.

Cheers

Ursuline loses two in a row. Mentor wins this one.

Massillon isn't even twice the size of Buchtel, whereas Mentor is over 6 times the size of Ursuline. It's simple math really, maybe Rocket could help you afterall.

Does this help you realize how stupid YOUR argument is now?

Let's clear things up here. Yes, Mentor has 1,000+ boys, and Ursuline has 173. However, only 100 boys are on Mentor's roster. With that many people standing on the sideline, it's pretty apparent that any boy who wants to play gets to play at Mentor. So Mentor's coaches aren't picking their starting lineups out of 1000 boys, they are picking it from 100. Ursuline, while only have 173 boys in the school, probably has around 60-70 boys on the team each year.

So a difference of 30-40 kids is not THAT big.

Ursuline falls 38-27.

It's just not fair. A school with over 1,000 boys is obviously going to beat a school with 173.

You must be wrong Sherm. According to Skank there is no way that Mentor can beat Ursuline. Your info must be incorrect. ;)

How can a small private school compete with a huge open erollment public school. Mentor doesn't have to take everyone that comes in as and open enrollment student. So using Skanks logic they must only bring in good football players, and that is why they beat UHS

"You only play eleven at a time"; someone said. It's those subs off the bench that will get you. It's called "depth", folks.

Youngstown has a huge metro and Mooney and Ursulin get all the best ... See another thread .. those schools are not typical small schools ..... This is not intended for controversy . I am just stating facts ... i resect those two schools they are true powerhouses and YU and YM should win titles again this year .... Youngstown is probably the toughest town in Ohio period

So again, I'd like to point out that the argument you have been making since the offseason should not be that private schools are evil and stealing all these kids. It should be that you don't think it's fair for a small school from a city to be in the same division as a small school from a very rural area.

I would take a 5-5 Ursuline over 10-0 Campbell. Winner would win state in my eyes.

And as a fan of a school that reaches the regional final almost every year...you should realize that Steubenville should be moved up a division, too.

Nope, never said that, I think it's a travesty simply that they scheduled them in the first place.
