Also, Pelini is awesome. I love his intensity.
Eh, not a surprise to resort to the "tough guy/hardass" defense. If you want a coach that loses his composure in the second half, so be it. Like I said, I don't mind yelling at a player. But at some point it becomes counter productive.

Now, go cut down some trees to make a fire to cook your deer that you tracked and killed with a spear.

Also funny that it's some UM fans (the week of the UM-ND game nonetheless) and some OSU fans criticizing it. Because you guys are so much more objective in this discussion than we are......

Please.

The rest of the nation sees it. It's not an UM/OSU thing.

Great comeback there.

Anyways, the problem on Saturday wasn't Kelly yelling at players. The problem was the numerous mistakes those players made which were happening well before the yelling started.

Fair enough. Some fans of what could be considered somewhat objective fan bases think Kelly is a psycho. I'm sure a lot of that is out there about Pelini too. Nick Saban appears to be a yeller too but I think that's worked out for him over the years. I'll say it again....I don't have any problem with it regardless of what coach does it. And I think it's sad that people are appalled by a football coach yelling at his players.

I don't think anyone is "appalled" by it, honestly it's football lol. The media will have a camera on the guy from here on out though I'm willing to bet, which will exacerbate the issue, no different than Pellini. Like I said earlier, if they're winning it looks educational, if they're losing, it looks as though he's losing his marbles. It is what it is.

Athletes who at one time had expectations put on them get it, others don't. It's as simple as that. I can assure you TJ Jones has been ripped before, because he's expected to be better than that. Not defending Kelly here, but these things happen a lot during games and it didn't help that NBC had a camera jammed down his throat after the 15th monumental mistake happened in that game.

Couple that with a little "controversy" with the team everyone loves to hate and the discussions heat up. Nd players know they played horrible, and at the time of the "blow up", it was the 3rd time ND failed to score from inside the 5 yard line. I am confident there are several coaches who would have lost it at that point due to a costly mistake by a starter.
Kelly turns bright red by nature, which doesn't help his cause either. He often looks fired up, even at press conferences.
It's hard to tell if people are just trying to pile onto ND at a low point or if so many are in favor of the wussification of America's youth. It would have been one thing if he grabbed and shook a player, but really? Yelling at a player? SMH. What have we gotten to that things like this go 8 pages...

You're right, ABC will be all over it on Saturday without a doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if he's told to watch it going forward, which is fine by me. Don't give the haters more nonsense to talk about. As if there isn't enough already.

Okay, forget the word "appalled" then. Obviously some don't like it or it bothers them to some extent.

I hope that neither Kelly nor Pelini change their coaching styles on the sideline.....cameras on them or not.

I don't think there are as many that are in any way concerned about it other than the extent that it's being portrayed by the media. Look at the mileage they've gotten from guys like Bobby Knight and Leach, Craig James whining like a little bitch...the more interesting aspect is how the media leads the lemmings to the cliff for me, not how a guy wears his emotions on his sleeve.

I do not completely agree with how Kelly handled everything, but I also have no idea what it's like to be a coach who witnessed everything he did that day. It was beyond bad, and I may have reacted the same way, so I can understand it.

The media really hasnt jumped in it too much, it's more of a message board "hater" hit topic. A lot of members of the media who were former athletes understood where BK was coming from.

It's sad to see so many people with the "don't yell at my kid" and "everyone should make the team" mindset. Sounds more like soccer fans than football fans.

A lot of Notre Dame fans are saying the same stuff and aren't blindly defending Kelly so there goes that theory.

I have zero problems with Kelly's actions and am kind of surprised he didn't yell a lot more. He had plenty of other opportunities. Also, TJ Jones has tweeted several times and said nothing negative about it, he said he and team are moving on from the game and getting prepared from Michigan.
