I'll put Campbell's kicker Alex Sudakov up against any kicker in the area. He is without a doubt one of the best. He has the leg to make a field goal from 50.Ohio;886786 wrote:60.. really haha

Campbell All the Way. Best team in many many years...... Its like McDonald's. I'm Lovin It!!!!!!

Hey and one more thing. Who the heck runs the Vindy Blitz? They have got to start letting people go and hiring some competent sports writers. In the the top players. Not one Campbell player. Ja'les has just over 400 yards rushing and 7 tds and not in the leader board. only thing there fun for is the Blitzs picks. And they still have not fixed my score from last week.

Yeah!!! i don't think they have a dedicated Blitzs Reporter. Hell last week in the Blitz show he said he like Ursuline in Div 5 and Campbell in Div 4. lol. Campbell is in Div 5. and they report the news?Ohio;887026 wrote:Yeah they really never do anything right on that site..... Wouldn't Struthers and Hubbard both be tied for 1st at 1-1, and Lakeview and Liberty both be tied for 3rd at 0-2?
Don't they go by overall record, until conference play starts? It's still very early... Liberty being in 3rd in the White is misleading... but it isn't exactly incorrect.
I agree though. The Blitz and myvalleysports.com both make their share of mistakes. I'm glad we at least have a couple of sites to keep us updated on HS Sports. There's probably quite a few places that don't even have one sight...

As far as individual game statistics not showing up in the paper, it may be the responsibility of someone at the school to call those in to The Vindicator. Think about it: does anyone really think that The Blitz has enough staff to cover each and every game on Friday/Saturday night, to have someone at each and every game? Of course they don't. I do know that years ago it was the responsibility of an individual involved with the school to call the individual stats in as well as the scores. If The Vindicator is not getting those stats called in to them, how can anyone expect to see them in the paper? As far as errors being made, please don't blame the people at The Vindicator for all of them. There could be some incorrect information being forwarded to them.BTrev;887071 wrote:Wouldn't Struthers and Hubbard both be tied for 1st at 1-1, and Lakeview and Liberty both be tied for 3rd at 0-2?

Big Dean, your a very wise man. I do some freelance work for some of the area media and you are correct in that the individual schools are responsible to call in their scores and stats to the newspapers and TV stations. I know the Vindicator has the reporters report the scores, and individual stats if they are noteworthy, but detailed stats are to come from the teams.
Second, congratulations on Campbell's 41-20 win against South Range and good luck to the Devils this year. You guys have an extremely talented team!

I used to be a statistician for Struthers from 1998 to 2004. That's how it was back then.

Thank you for the compliment. I think The Vindy does a pretty good job covering high school football. I grew up with Greg Gulas. He is a Campbell graduate and does a fine job of writing the articles of the games he covers. And the free lance guys like you really help out. Keep up the good work.MorgansRaiders;887860 wrote:Big Dean, your a very wise man. they still have ja'les's stats wrong. they still are crediting reyes with that 70+ run for a td (thats why he's not at 400 and 8 tds).

sonny, this touchdown resulted when Ja'les lined up as the QB in shotgun. Reyes was out wide as a receiver. Ja'les took a direct snap, cut to his right and went 77 yards UNTOUCHED for a touchdown. Ja'les stats for the game were 12 carries, 267 yards, and four touchdowns............in 2 1/2 quarters. Also, it was Patton who caught the 55 yard touchdown pass on a fly pattern. Rushton's came later, a 54 yard touchdown on a deep pass where the defender tipped the ball. The article had them reversed.sonnyblack;888214 wrote:they still have ja'les's stats wrong. they still are crediting reyes with that 70+ run for a td (thats why he's not at 400 and 8 tds).
