I like how you all throw out your predictions, it doesn't matter to me what the score is as long as my team has at least 1 more point than yours at the end of the game.ArrowGrad02;880250 wrote:Ashland 35 - Dover 31

Lets go boys, light em up....Can't wait to hear that annoying PA announcer and the gonging bell. BTW I AM ONE OF THE ARROGANT SPECTATORS enjoying listening to the band whaling away when the opponent has the ball. Advantage for team Crater Stadium. It doesn't hurt that we are normally the better team on the field, tonight should be no different.........HIT HIT HIT

It's early in the season. I listened on the radio. Why such a late game? Anyway. Dover will be fine they always are

This game was a gut check and I think both teams responded,Dover just a little more. Hats off to both teams.

Both teams air it out. And no one could catch a thing to keep the clock running. The second quarter felt like it lasted 45mins.just_a_swimmer;881076 wrote:It's early in the season. I listened on the radio. Why such a late game? Anyway. Dover will be fine they always are

Have to give the Ashland fans a lot of credit for their support and incredible student section. They were loud and supportive the entire game. Many of the folks on the Dover side were quiet and just not into the game (at least where I was sitting) and the mass exit of what must have been band parents/grandparents after the halftime show was a bit disappointing. I realize it was very hot and close to 10 by then, but c'mon.

That's normal. People been complaining about Dover fans leaving after halftime for years. You would think at Dover it would be all about the team but at Dover it is about the band as well.Dover;881276 wrote:Have to give the Ashland fans a lot of credit for their support and incredible student section. You are partially right, but a look at the program will show Dover has great participation in other sports C.C.,Tennis Soccer. They usually have events on Saturday. C.C. has about 40 kids and had to leave at 6:30 A.M. today it is sometimes a big challenge to see all of your kids in all events and many parents split duties.
We do have an abundance of older fans, but to give them credit, they show up and fill the seats every year every game.

Yep. I know how they feel. I don't rah rah up in the stands either. I get fired up and yell occasionally but not one to stand up a cheer with the cheer leaders. I let the kids do that but I'm still out here supporting those kids every home game. I was more talking about he band parents in the reserve seats that get up and leave after half time. People have always noticed that in Dover. There are people in Dover that go to the game for the band as much as the football. That is a credit to Dover Band for sure. They always put on a great halftime show.

Thanks for the info. (you think you know)
wow this game was a dice roll. Hot one too.
Swinderman D 18-44-1 Anyone notice he was having trouble gripping the ball? But he did take care of the ball.
Props to Sullivan our kicker god bless him!!!
Hope Ashlands QB Bernhard is alright for next week. Ashland Coach got greedy wanting a 3 point game and it bite him in the ass.
Good luck Ashland the rest of season. On to Canfield.
