Well, Janish has turf toe, and Renteria has a bad groin. Who are the next options at shortstop??

First pitch expected a 7:30p.

Dave Sappelt is just not a major league hitter...teams already have the scouting report to pitch up in the zone and he can't handle it at all....a fly ball machine......excellent outfielder though.

Jonny Gomes with a tremendous catch in the deep LF corner robbing Votto of a double or triple and hit into wall pretty hard.

That's twice now Hanigan has had perfect hit and run and both times the ball went where the covering defensive player was.

Brandon Phillips cost the Reds 2 big runs by not making a play he should make and any 2nd baseman in the league would be expected to make.....an error but of course ruled a hit as the home team gives everything a hit anymore to pad stats and on the flipside Phillips always gets it his way at home to make sure he wins the GG....scoring anymore often drives me crazy....call it as is..a players stats will be true if you score it the way you should. I remember RBI machine Juan Gonzalez throwing his arms up at his own scorer for the Rangers because he cheated him of a hit and and RBI.....would not happen nowadays.

Phillips is the GG lock at 2nd....and so far is very deserving but he's had at least 3 error be given gimme hits....and none of them were close.

I hate when they give players hits on that stuff...this is the big leagues....but they often score it as if their mom is the scorekeeper.

Reds get out of huge jam and then Bruce looks ridiculous on 3 straight pitches.

Btw....any pitcher who throws it or any catcher that calls it or any scout that says to do it or any manager that agrees to throw Jayson Werth a high outside fastball should be fired.

Alonso got a fairer deal on called strike 3 than Stubbs did in his last AB!

Defensive replacement just made a great catch to rob Hernandez of a double.

Very big tough play on Ramon's bid to LF that would have put the tying run on 2nd with one out!

This is the worst home plate umpire I've seen all year.....Dusty should lose his job for letting Sappelt hit with 2 outs in the 9th.
