Last night, Brian Hoyer was 15/21, 171 yards, 1 TD 0 int in a very meaningful preseason game.

Should he be the starter over Tom Brady, who has shown to throw INTs in the red zone?

Thoughts?

Couple more performances like that and he will be considered the next Cassel/Kolb and have a huge contract next season. I consider both vastly overrated.

I know the Hoyer family. I don't think even his father would say he should start over Brady.

How about Stephen McGee in Dallas? 3 TDs to 1 INT and led a late comeback for the win. A full season of Stephen McGee and sky is the limit!

Good point. But I really think McGee is in a no win situation..I mean he's clearly REALLY REALLY good, just look at his preseason game stats; and I mean he's not a rookie anymore!

For anyone not in a joke... this is a response to Speedofsands nut hugging of Tebow doing better than Orton in the pre-season game.

Using Speedofsand's vastly superior logic, YES! Hoyer should be the starter. Without-a-freaking-doubt.

Brian Hoyer wasn't a winner/leader in college, so this is iffy. In fact, Tom Brady wasn't much in college either, so they both suck.

I completely forgot he was even in the league until I heard he was Brady's backup.

In all honesty, I think the Pats have another Cassel/Kolb situation on their hands. They should ditch Hoyer for big value (like they do every time they trade rape someone) and count on Mallet to be the future. I think he (Mallet) will be good in that system.

Teams don't trade for Tebow. Tebow trades for teams.

I'll bet half of my V-Cash that Cassel, and subsequently the Chiefs O, will struggle without Charlie Weiss this year. Jamal Charles is behind Thomas Jones on the depth chart. That speaks volumes to the genius of Todd Hale.
