I cant be the only person who really likes talking college football but cringes everytime i enter this forum. 40% of the comments are useless troll posts(which literally everyone in this forum makes from time to time, myself included) . We have to be able to think of something to get this under control before the season starts. I wouldnt even be opposed to leaving some troll threads created during the season if the ridiculousness is left in the those threads and threads made for discussion are moderated a little tougher. Soooo whos with me?? Any ideas??

I like the idea of "Troll Threads." Like an "OSU Troll Thread." Move all trolling posts to said thread.

Historically a forum where passions run high and vitriol and sarcasm run equally high...despite best efforts nothing will change. It's part of the reason this site manifested itself, well, that and 12 bucks. Just have to deal with it and move along.

Agree. I don't think much can be done. Nor do I think it's as bad as you think. If you try to moderate it, it's just more work for someone else.

We don't need troll threads. We have a whole forum for trolling.

Once the season starts we'll probably try to keep a closer eye on the individuals who seem to have a propensity for trolling (for example, sleeper and ND). But we're not going to be too liberal with trolling infractions; there has to be a pattern of trolling, not just a one time deal.

Also, one way to keep trolls from becoming a problem.... DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM. If you don't respond to them, they tend to start talking less. Trolls want attention, don't give them what they want.

Just stay on topic and don't get into bitching fests. Remember the person you're arguing with is trying to prove a point and may have one. Sometimes you can't find middle ground though. Move on, don't hurt yourself.

This just isnt possible for some people and the bitch fests end up spilling into other threads where the topic is completely different. I mean i dont really expect anything to be different than how its been, just figured if i made this thread someone might come up with some sort of idea that would help even the least.

Troll is a term that gets thrown around too much. Webbie for instance gets blasted for trolling everytime he posts on an OSU thread where the story of the thread is not a good one. People have to understand this is a cfb forum bot an OSU or scUM or ND forum.

Bottomline is, the more you feed them, the more they will eat. If you can't help but argue w/ someone, put them on your ignore list, then you won't have to worry about it. Fact of the matter is, there are plenty of people here that would much rather argue w/ someone, than talk logically about football or a football related topic.

How about bucks fans realize there are fans of other schools out there and that this site isnt limited to just bucks fans? This site would be boring if it was only OSU talk. It seems as if you like ND, FL, FSU, LSU, Mich that you get hammered for any insight you give.

Actually no. Don't be surprised if he suddenly changes his mind next week and doesn't talk to the NCAA. I think he (Ellis) is fishing for just that, hush money.

There is a difference between discussing your team and trolling OSU fans.

Or if SEC fans would realize that the Big Ten is the best conference with more National Championships, a better head to head record, and overwhelmingly stronger academic institutions then we could actually get somewhere in the debates. Add that with ND fans who understand their team is mediocre(I mean its been 20+ years, time to get with the program), Michigan fans to get that they are only relevant once per year when they lose to Ohio State, and Florida fans who can accept that Tebow is gone, and that means Florida is back to being an average football program that no one outside of Florida cares about.

Also, its not trolling if its true, its trollling if its untrue(like 99.999% of all posts made by OSU haters regarding the "serious violations"). Give me a break.

Puhlease...dude you spend more time talking negativity on OSU threads, starting threads that show OSU in a negative light than you do talking about LSU. You're a genuine hypocrite.

CFB forum will never be peaches and cream!! Cats and others need to realize 99% of the fans are OSU fans no way around it so it will be majority OSU all the time! Just like Tigerdroppings is 99% LSU I'd guess??
