Look in the BB app world, there is a pay app that does exactly this. I forget the name of it.

Yeah the app for the BB is free, but they get you by charging for the desktop client.

Most of the people I work with use GMail, and if you have a gmail account, you have a gtalk account.

But isn't Google Talk always connected and using data?

BBM was one of the main reasons I've stuck with a Blackberry. I still have tons of people using it, but I'm growing tired of Rim's shit OS.

By default I think it stays off...once you open it it'll sign you in automatically from that point onward.

At least I think.

There's an option if you don't want it connected all of the time. It doesn't chew much data, anyways.
