The biggest series of the year. Could leave this series 7 back or 1 down. The rotation sets up perfect for the tribe.
Game 1 Fister vs Masterson
Game 2 Porcello vs Jimenez
Game 3 Verlander vs Carmona
It's do or die time. Go tribe!

I would agree, though I think the Tribe is done regardless.

Next 2 weeks are huge. 4-2 versus the Tigers and 4-2 versus the Sox/Twins is a damn must. Id take 4-2 and 3-3 as well. But it wouldnt close as much ground imo.

It's your opinion that going 3-3 doesnt close as much ground as 4-2?

Well, I meant I see the Tigers going 4-2, but they could possibly go 3-3 in their other games. Buuuuuuut, GFY.

I agree that the bullpen has hurt us alot over the past two weeks. Guys that we counted on to be lights out have been giving away leads. Last nite it was Joe Smith's turn...
The team has lost a lot a close games late....the mark of inexperience. Also, we have alot of defensively unpolished guys up from AAA ball, instead of guys like Choo and Sizemore, OCab and Hannahan.. These guys started the year there for a reason. No doubt they have raw talent, but defensively they still need work.

Pitching match ups are pretty interesting. We need to win the first 2 games with Verlander going in game 3. It would be nice to sweep these assholes.

This really is a series to serve notice to the Kitties, that we are not going away. We are at home, too We really need to take at least two.

Hopefully there are some big crowds there. There should be.

Very comforting as a Tigers' fan to know you have Verlander throwing a game this series. Just have to split the first two to go up five games. And Fister is very underrated. Game one tomorrow night should be a good one. Good chance Victor comes back in time.

So you think it's a given the Tigers win game 3?
And what's wrong with Victor?

I think if the Tribe has a good week you will see them make another trade or two to improve their pen and outfield.

I fear we go below .500 and pretty much out of it.

I wouldn't say a "given," but I would feel comfortable saying Detroit will be a huge favorite in game 3. He's been extremely dominant, as his 0.87 WHIP leads the league and is the best mark since Pedro's 0.74 in 2000.
Victor sprained his knee Saturday. He should be back.

Now THIS series is the "do or die" that's been talked about. Either they sack up or watch the Kitties walk away with the division.

Hasn't this been the pace the team has been on for the entire second half? I think they have been playing under .500 ball thus far since the half way point.BRF;855848 wrote:I fear we go below .500 and pretty much out of it.

Ya think? I'm talking about for the whole season. This is it do or die, as BR said.

Fister tied us up in knots back in May. Hopefully we have better success vs him tonight.

This will be our third time facing him this year. We've won both games but he's pitched well and wasn't helped by Seattle's offense at all. Hopefully the third time will be the charm for us tonight and we can solve him because Detroit's offense is way better then Seattle's.

The good thing is we have masterson pitching. It seems that Santana is starting to heat up that would be huge for this offense
