Geeting back to the original question that Brutus asked, "Who win this game and why?"

On paper, it appears that with all the D1 recruits, home field advantage, new scoreboard (very nice I must say), size and speed Orrville is the hands down favorite.
But.....
This is Ohio High School football; recruits can have a bad game, home field advantage may not work, new scoreboard may not work, size (uh, we have that too) and speed (also once again a wash). This game will come down to who wants it bad enough. Can the Indians step it up and be perfect? In my opinion, YES. We may not be as talented as your Red Riders may be, I believe we have the HEART to pull off an upset.

OK, we have no size whatsoever. Gonna be a great game as usual. Could go either way. Like most first games= fewest mistakes and big plays determine outcome.

Pretty much. Keep it simple, dont give the ball away and hope you have a shot in the 4th Q.

Special Teams!!! IDK about NW but I think Stu is a +1 for O-town in that category!!! (He may not be up to speed though since its the 1st game) :)

northwest looked just ok? minus the two fumbles on their first series of 10 they manhandled a good perry team. only reason perry scored on their opening drive was from a bogus PI call where the kid played it well. Besides that NW defense shut down the run and they were able to do whatever they wanted on Offense. Did not think NW was that good, if they stay healthy watch out they have some big time size and speed on both sides of the ball....

always can find things to work on the big things from the scrimmage is how to identify and stop the screen play that is about all perry had going for them besides this nw really played well and if it was a full game i would have to say they would have won by at least 2 plus tds i was amazed at the team speed that nw had....

I love this time of the year, leading up to game 1. Especially when it comes to Northwest / Orrville pre-game hype talk. It will be so strange not facing the Louisville's and West Branch teams. It sounds like the Northwest / Marlington match-up could have been a monster.

And tell that guy congratulations to him and his son. They won a scrimmage against a team with a conservative approach and Minerva is still 0-0. Lots to be proud of! Who wouldnt be proud of that? MAybe they will come watch us play in Week 11 when we are in the playoffs and they arent and he can sit there with his dad and say "Hey Dad, remember when we beat these guys in a scrimmage?" "Ya I do son, im so proud of you"

So Minerva is that good??? Or Orrville was THAT conservative that they didnt score? I understand it was just a scrimmage....but every coach/kids surely wants to find the endzone....conservative or not!!!

What sort of computer points do you get for winning a scrimmage.

Call Jostens...order some championship rings.
