I'm heading up to Chicago this weekend on a golf trip with a buddy, and we're heading to Wrigley on Sunday for the Reds game. I'm looking at tickets and it looks like there are plenty of regular tickets for around $25 each, but bleachers are in the $45-$50 dollar range. Is it worth the extra coin to go with the bleachers, or is it good enough to go with a regular seat?

We're golfing at Sydney R. Marovitz golf course in the morning then going to the game and it looks like it's only a mile from Wrigley, so we should get there around an hour and a half before the game, so what are some good places to frequent around Wrigleyville?

Don't eat at the McD's next to the stadium. Bad indegestion for us. lol.

Go in the stadium early and I believe the dogs are cheaper (and very good).

Also, I'd pony up the extra $$ for bleachers. They are more enjoyable if you like to be around a rowdy crowd.

The Bleachers are the place to be. Make sure you get there earlier they have cheaper food prices until about an hour before the game. You can also line up at the gate and when it opens make a quick run to get front row bleacher seats. The front row is awesome for BP as most players love the bleacher bums and throw tons of ball into the stands. We just went JUly 4th weekend to the cubs vs whitesox game. When we started looking about a week early people were asking 150$ a ticket for bleachers and game day we got two bleacher tickets for 90$. Also you may want to try eating at luckys right down the street from wrigley it was on Man vs Food and has huge great tasting sandwichs for cheap.

Also if your downtown try westminster hot dogs best dog in town.

Bleacher seats are fun, should be some good drunk scenery.

Lots of good bars in the area obviously. I've been to the Cubby Bear, Casey Moran's, Merkles, Moe's Cantina, Harry Carey's, Red Ivy, and Sluggers.

Casey Moran's is probably the nicest but is packed. Red Ivy and Moe's are good too. Sluggers has batting cages but other than that is kind of dumpy.

Get tickets to one of the rooftops. It may seem expensive but you can definitely make it worth your while by getting beer and food there. They typically open 1.5-2 hours before each game.

Also, if you are going to be in the area after the game drinking, Ian's pizza is a good late night spot for food.

YES ... sit in the bleachers. Went to my first Cubs game in Wrigley two weekends ago, sat in the bleachers, best scene at a ballgame I have ever experienced. Pregamed at a few bars before the game (they are everywhere), sat in the sun with many cold beers and a mean Italian Beef sandwich, and even sung that cheesy-ass song after the Cubs won haha (Chicago folks know the song).

Place to go eat, for cheap, is Boccis Pizza. NY Style pizza and you dont find NY Style often in Chicago. I would also splurge for Bleachers, they are way more fun.

TONS of places to go in Wrigleyville though. We can all make suggestions, and chances are something will catch your eye and you will go there instead.

You can't go wrong wherever you end up in there. The bleachers are great, but even a seat along the 1st or 3rd base line is great. It's a really nice baseball atmosphere. And whoever said that you'll find your own way was right. Wrigleyville is a can't miss area. You'll see more interesting places than there'll be time for.

Have fun. Hope you're not a Cubs fan though. Their field is great, but they suck.

Went two Fridays ago for my first time...I would give you a bar input but the day became too much of a blur. All I remember was going to Murphys?(Its just past the outfield entrance right below the subway), and Casey Morans.

It felt like being at a college football game with everyone being hammered before 11am. Great time. Glad our seats were in the nosebleeds under some shade it was hot as hell.

Go to the Cubby Bear, it's right across from the stadium. They have some famous blue drink that was pretty good too, might be a smurf something. I'd do bleachers also, but you will be able to get tix dirt cheap on the streets since both teams suck.

Slather on the sunscreen and sit in the bleachers.

The game is secondary in the bleachers. Drinking large amounts of draft beer. "Left field sucks!"

Thanks for all of the input guys. I'll have to check out the rooftops, but I think we'll end up doing the bleachers. I've never heard of the cheaper food an hour before the game but that sounds pretty good. We're thinking of maybe skipping the morning 9 and just going to Wrigleyville early for the full experience. We're already doing 72 holes from Thursday night to Saturday night so getting plenty of golf in already. I'm very excited for Sunday though as I've always wanted to see a game at Wrigley. Will have to let you guys know how it goes!

Been to Wrigley several times...

One of the most memorable was a "day-night" double with the Cubs and White Sox...
Saw the Reds v. Cubs in a day game...then battled the traffic across town for the White Sox vs. Bosox at night.
Actually had much better seats at Comiskey...
Arrived back in Ohio at 4am........

I was much younger then.....
