I'm slacking. I haven't caught a flick since Fast 6. I've been low on funds. I'm going to try and catch a few this coming week. I'm thinking This is the End and World War Z. Chalk me up as another who has no desire to see Lone Ranger.

Just got back from World War Z. Was a really great movie. I think the ending S&L posted would have been awesome though. Hopefully they put it on the DvD.

Also I was a big Jim Carrey fan but I agree a lot of the stuff he has done lately has sucked. I'd say the only movies I've enjoyed that he has done in the last 15 years are Me Myself & Irene and The Number 23.

As for The Lone Ranger... I wouldn't even go see it if I had a free ticket. It just looks terrible.

Good picks. I've been getting caught up on some Redbox movies this week. Liked Side Effects, really liked Silver Linings, liked Skyfall, hated Oz.

Really? I think The Truman Show is one of the best movies that came out in the last 15 years

Comedians tend to have a short shelf-life as far as actors go. And Jim Carrey has definitely made the most of his career.

JC movies I enjoyed watching:

Dumb and Dumber
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Liar Liar
Truman Show
Man on the Moon
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Me, Myself and Irene
Bruce Almighty
Fun with Dick and Jane
Yes Man (Even though it was just a repeat of Liar Liar)

I'm not claiming those are great movies, just that they were worth seeing in my opinion.

Every comedian's schtick eventually wears thin. Either that or they die or have their career derailed because of drugs. It's hard to argue with the success Carrey has had.

Haha I'm not a huge fan of Bruce Almighty. I mean it wasn't terrible but not one of my JC favorites.

I will agree that I did forget about Eternal Sunshine that was a great one. Also I guess I should have definitely include The Truman Show.. I thought it came out earlier than 1998 lol.

As for the Dumb and Dumber To movie... looking at the name alone it just sounds terrible then reading the plot makes it even worse.

The film is set in the near future where soldiers pilot giant mecha into battle against invading giant monsters who have risen from a portal beneath the ocean.
Cause of the plot...

lol. I guess to each there own, but that just sounds dumb and previews looked even dumber.

You bite your tongue. Pacific Rim looks awesome - not because of plot, or acting, but because it's motherfucking giant robots fighting motherfucking giant monsters. That's a summer movie I can get behind.

Previews looked awesome. Idk what you're beef is with machines fighting machines but consider me in for that shit.

When I watched the trailer to Pacific Rim I thought the movie would be terrible. About as enjoyable as giving a rim job.

I know very little about Pacific Rim and haven't seen the trailer, but if it is directed by Guillermo del Toro it can't be that bad. This isn't a Michael Bay film.

I feel like Pacific Rim is a movie that would best be seen while either stoned or on shrooms.
