Yeah. You did the right thing there. Something a bit wrong with even keeping numbers/bang list out around your normal paperwork. Does make it look like (since you said he hadn't contacted the girl you called) he was weighing his options and would be getting in touch one day/night sooner or later.

Two quick thoughts:
(1) SEJ, I think you're doing the right thing and have the right mindset to approach this.
(2) I don't keep a list, though at least once I made a list (I don't recall why, and I don't think I still have it anywhere). Keeping/updating a list seems pretty odd to me--it's something a 20-year old might do, but for someone who is older and in a more serious relationship, it starts seeming creepy.
