I hope so it would be interesting to see what he could do with this team

Other rumored candidates:

Sigi Schmidt
Dominic Kinnear
Bruce Arena
Guus Hiddink
Jason Kreis

I don't see Arena or Hiddink (too much money to get him) getting hired. I don't want Arena, never liked him. It would be interesting that they may go with a MLS coach, I don't know if it's the right time for that. People are really high on Kreis, but I don't know if he has the experience yet. Sigi Schmidt has been an assistant already with the USMNT (1994). And of course, Kinnear has played for them.

It's time for a change. It's been time for a change. I wonder why it took so long? It almost appears that it's Klinsmann time. But, honestly, I would be surprised if we went international with our coaching change...right now. I really don't know how our 2014 World Cup hopes are, probably set the bar pretty low. By 2018, we will probably be seeing very few players on our current roster in Russia.

Pretty sure Hiddink has a contract with Turkey running through the next WC, but Hiddink would be legit.

Yeah, the USSF would have to buy out his contract (which would be too spendy for US). And...it's not like we'd pay him enough anyway.

More names:
Marcelo Bielsa
Marcello Lippi (2006 World Cup victor)
Frank Rijkaard
More MLS coaches -- don't count :)
Louis van Gaal

As much as I like Lippi, his style does not bode well for USA. Although, he definitely could teach them a thing or two about keeping the fucking ball out of the net.

It is official. Thank goodness, hopefully he can turn the whole program around. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Mens-National-Team/2011/07/Klinsmann-Named-Head-Coach-of-US-MNT.aspx

This is amazing. I hope he fixes all our teams and get the whole organization playing one style, HIS style so the players coming up the ranks have the easier transition.
