This is the FIRST Pirates game I have watched all year... Actually it was the first Pirates game I have watched since 1993... In the bottom of the 19th, a throw to home plate (with the tag) was called safe and the Braves won 4-3. Honestly I couldn't care less if the Pirates won or lost since I am a Red Sox fan, but man did they get the shaft... Might be the worst call I have ever seen in the game of baseball. That ump needs to be reprimanded for that crazy a** call.

Seriously... Its my step mom's b-day, We all went to my sisters house for the get together and she had the game on... When I got home, I decided to see if the Pirates are actually worth watching a game this year and turned it on when I got home in the 7th inning. 12 innings later they got the shaft big time. lol Honestly the first game I watched since '93. Prolly won't watch another one for a decade or so.

I couldn't stay awake to finish watching the game. Bad calls happen but it's blatantly obvious that he was tagged out after seeing replays and pics.

No it's not what the catcher gets. The game deserves better. They played over 6 1/2 hours and for 19 innings and you end it on a completely obvious call....which was called incorrectly.
Umpires always find a way to make it about them way more than it should happen. A tag is a tag whether he he swipes and the string of his glove touches the baggy part of his pants leg or if his drills him into the gound.

of course, and its the umpire that has to be convinced you tagged the runner. which is why fundamentals like putting the hand over your glove and putting the tag on the runner, not swiping, are taught. even a replay isnt going to show conclusive evidence he was tagged.Skyhook79;842843 wrote:which is still suppose to be considered an out or did they change the rules on how to tag someone?
