We can agree to disagree. You guys made some good points that I was already aware of (timing) and agree with but I still think that this ruling by the conference is silly and too much is being made out of the color of their uni's/field. And I still feel that Boise State was/is just damn good and was good enough to dominate mid-major's without that being due, in large part, to them "blending in" with their field.
They did okay against a damn good Oklahoma team on a neutral field so I think "they're just that much better than their conference opponents were" is pretty believable.
I mean, I think kicking a field goal at the open end of Heinz Field was/is hard for the Steelers kicker even though they have more experience kicking there than opposing kickers. Sure, there's some advantage in regards to being more familiar with it but it's still tough as shit IMO.
