Stevie was probably enjoying his time with Adam Scott too much.

I'm surprised to hear this. I thought they were really close.

Williams will now caddie for Adam Scott.

It's Tiger just trying to blame everything but his skills for his poor play.

Ah, he lost his caddie.

I see.

Story makes more sense now.

I second Ironma92's YAWN.

tiger's got to get out of his own head. stop over-thinking everything and just hit the damn club (when healthy)

I was thinking bout this, could it be Steve decided to caddy Adam Scott during the British anticipating tiger would not be ready. Then Tiger wants exclusivity, and decides to cut ties with Williams?

Will Tiger golf at Firestone? I heard he is holding out from other Turny's and trying to get healthier, for the Akron event.

This is, imo, the only likely scenario. Tiger would have no reason to cut Stevie unless he asked for exclusivity and Stevie wouldn't give it, anticipating that Tiger's camp wouldn't fire him. Well they did. I'm not sure this bodes well for Tiger's future from a golfing standpoint.

harig on espn.com mentioned that williams caddying for scott most likely led to the split

Smith isn't real happy about it

I wonder what kind of contract they had? Could Williams write a book about his years with Tiger?

Nobody, including Cowherd knows the extent of their relationship and what had been promised by both to each other.

Of course, trusting Tiger is like trusting Bernie Madoff.

Tiger demands complete loyalty. In one direction only, of course. Williams will have no trouble acting like an ass carrying another player's bag.

I was looking for a good guy in this story and failed miserably. They were perfect for each other in a lot of ways.

Stevie has literally been Tiger's caddie since 1999, being on the bag for his most dominant golf, and their relationship extended beyond the golf course, with Tiger being at Stevie's wedding. Very shocking news for those who really follow golf, but I guess the relationship kind of eroded, despite Stevie's continued loyalty (until lately).

Ah ok. Just wondering. Thanks for filling me in.
