Did you actually think the season was gonna be cancelled and no games were to be played?

I love the NFL as much as anyone. Love my steelers and some friends and I have season tix, but in no, way, shape or form was I worried one iota that the season would be in jeapordy.

Did you think they really would miss out any of the regular season games?

Nope...and that's part of the reason that the owners are giving in to a lot of concessions. Lost games (even preseason) equal a HUGE amount of lost money.

Yeah, I was confident no games would be missed. Too much money for both sides. The NBA however, I am expecting a good amount of games to be missed, and possibly the whole season.

BR---have not been following whom is giving in more on this CBA, but I think it is in the interest of BOTH sides to give in and get a deal done. A year missed by players is a year less of their earning ability as they get older and skills erode.

An owner can lose lots of money in a lost season, but most of them will be around for years. Not so for the players.

Never thought they'd lose those games -- way too much money in it.

Just like with every other major contract that is on the line, things always get done at the last minute.

I thought it might take a little bit longer than it (apparently) will, but I didn't think any regular season games would be missed, even if it meant pushing the season back a week or 2.

Nope I figured we wouldn't miss any games to be honest I figured there would have been a deal done 2 weeks ago.

I voted yes. Whenever I hear "they can't possibly be that dumb..."

According to a family member of a drafted rookie, the player reps told them a couple of weeks ago the target date was to announce a deal on 4th of July, but they had a couple of small details they couldnt get hammered out and it may take another couple weks.

not a chance--the game is bigger than it's ever been, and neither side wanted to lose that momentum

there was always a chance i thought that they might miss games but i pretty much thought that the ball would be rolling right about early to mid july. the nfl lockout is different than the nba lockout. there is nothing profoundly broken with the nfl system. the two sides have just been arguing over dollars and cents and that would ultimately get resolved when push came to shove. the nba, on the otherhand, is a broken system and they most likely miss a good amount of games
