I wonder if Valbuena will be allowed to ride the plane home or if they make him walk. I know he's not really an OFer but good Lord at least act like you want to catch the ball.

Pitiful....after blowing ass in the last two at bmore and choking away two in the series.....this roadtrip sucked....even with the .500 record.

I would like to agree with you. But if you would have told me before this 8 game stretch that the Tribe would have Gomez, Huff and Carmona on the mound for 3 of those 8 games, along with 5-6 minor leaguers in the lineup every game I probably would have taken a split of the road trip. Now it is up to the front office whether this team competes or not. Because they can't play winning baseball w/ the current roster.

That's what I like out of my Tribe 3B, late solo shots when down by 3 runs in the 9th. Casey Blake's legacy lives on.

They need a bat badly. That line-up, the last 2 nights, has just been a joke. If I get the Grady and Choo are coming off the DL soon excuse Im gonna go bonkers.

Also looks like Josh Tomlin has lost it a bit the last couple outings.

Which isn't a huge surprise. Throwing mid to upper 80's from the right side he is going to go through stretches where he gets knocked around.

If they don't pick up a bat then the chances of the playoffs this year are over. Also, I have seen enough of Luis Valbuena. Can they bring up Kipnis? At least in this situation he would have had a shot in LF, dude was an OF in college. Plus, maybe he will come up and hit. We know from 2 years of seeing Luis that he isn't going to do that.

They wont bring him up. They want him to play only 2B and they want him to play everyday. So we wont see him this year, until September imo.

As for Tomlin. Yep. I really hope Pomeranz and White develop, because Tomlin is shaky/OK as a #3, but is a STUD as a #5.

Completely agree. As a #5 he is perfect. You know he is going to go out there and give you 6+ innings and keep you in the ballgame. When he is on or is facing a group of impatient hitters he can shut them down. At his worst you get something similar to what we got today, which was still good enough to give us a chance to win.

MLBastian:

On Casilla leadoff double in 8th, Acta said: "If you have an everyday outfielder, I'm sure that it probably could've been caught."

No shit.

Which begs the question, why wasn't Laporta out there? Not that he's an "everyday outfielder" but he's played a lot more than Valbuena. Put Santana at 1st & Marson behind the plate.

that'd make too much sense--sometime's I wonder if Acta's smoking the ganja

Or Acta is telling the front office to get him an outfielder because if they don't get a steady bat these games don't matter anyways.

Lone bright spot. A's rally for 4 in the 7th and get a comeback win vs the Tigers.

Royals got 1 in the 8th to tie the Sox in KC. Then had 1st and 2nd with nobody out in the 10th. Back to back ground outs to the pitcher and an infield pop and game is in the 11th. Bruce Chen took a no no into the 6th.

No. The Royals found a way to win thanks to a wild pitch by Sergio Santos. So Sox and Tigers both lose so nothing lost...except another opportunity.

Some great points here....Why the hell wasn't LaPorta used in the OF...Why the hell wasn't Duncan flown in? It's just frustrating to watch them piss the season away. Sure you don't want to mortgage the future, but sometimes you need to be bold. One thing is for sure, standing pat will not work.
