Yeah, it sucks for him to go to Chivas...I agree. But, he'd be in LA right? It's a big market and executives want those big markets to succeed. I don't know how much pine he's riding in Turkey, he's been solid for them for the most part.gorocks99;858606 wrote:Too bad he'd go to Chivas. But you're right, good for MLS. I'd be anxious to see how he would do getting regular playing time instead of riding the pine in Europe/playing in the Turkish Second Division.

Haven't seen Donovan play like that in quite some time? Have you been watching much him alately? I've been rather critical of him for most of his career and since the last WC my opinion has changed lately. I've been pleased with his play all over from the US team, to Everton and back to the MLS. He is no doubt our best player.
ESPNews and ESPN3 aren't always available at places. That was the problem.
I watch every USMNT game I can. I have never been a huge fan of Landycakes. But, he played at a tempo he hasn't played at in quite some time. He's been a solid contributor, absolutely, but he just dictated the pace [in the 2nd half] -- when was the last time the USMNT did that (the only time I remember a high tempo game was the first half against Canada to open the Gold Cup play this year, outside of that it's been a long time)? I would venture to say that Dempsey could give Landy a run for "best player." Dempsey has performed fantastically in the World Cup and Gold Cup (although he did fail to finish when we wanted him to). If Landy is not playing well, we don't see it quite as much as if Dempsey is not playing well -- mainly because Dempsey often plays in the middle of the field. We've traditionally used the middle of the field more than the flanks (where Landy has been playing).
