Yes, for many years. Worked construction for my grandpa from 7th grade until I got out of college. Also (kinda) get paid under the table currently as a referee. I've never claimed any of it, but I will have to start this year. Fill out a 1099 at every school now.

I worked at a local pizza shop for a couple of months and was paid under the table every night. Solid job at the time.

I coached (baby sat basically) at a local bowling alley's after school bowling program...Was about an hour after school 3-4 times per week -- $10 per day, cash in an envelope. Good money back in 8th and 9th grade. Plus, we got to walk down between the lanes to free up any stranded balls, so that alone was worth it.

I think the rule is if you get less than $600 from any one school/program you don't claim it.

You you do decide to claim it, make sure you write off milage, uniforms etc, you should not "make" any money.

Did a lot of farm work back in the 1970's (baling hay, caring for livestock, etc.). It was rare to --not-- be paid in cash off the books.

Technically, you should claim any income. You were required to fill out a 1099 with a school if you made above $600 with them, and they had to report your income to the IRS. Now school treasurer's are required to report anyone to whom they issue checks, increasing your chances of getting caught by the IRS with your unclaimed income.

Yes, write off mileage, unis, etc. Also write off meals while on the road. Could write off lodging if you were far enough away from home.

I did it right out of school while i was living with my parents. It was a night job all over new england. Jobs took anywhere from 6 to 18 hours and i was just really burnt out doing it 5-6 days a week. I did it for a few months and was able to put enough money away to move out.

I made 6.50 or so an hour at the pizza place I worked at plus tips as I was a delivery guy. The managers were laid back and didn't care much what went on. I started out working 4 days a week and by the time the place closed I was the only delivery person and was obviously working 7 days a week. My girlfriend was allowed to hang out whenever she wanted and we had a little fun in the bathroom quite often. Went and put money in the bank every day before work. So yeah it was a pretty tight job at the time.

Farm work when I was 13-14. I didn't realize I was supposed to pay taxes on it. For everything else (Mrs. FFT's babysitting money, side jobs, etc.) we've claimed them on our taxes.

I believe the statute of limitations has run on taxes I didn't pay when I was 13. And I don't even have a reasonable basis for knowing how much I was even paid. Otherwise we would go back and amend, which we did for several years in which we had info (Schedule C for side business, etc.).

jk I hope you know that. Are you sure about that statue of limitations??

what might you think it is? 7 years?

You are permitted to guesstimate your liability you know. ;)
