When I went on my trip to Europe two years ago we noticed people doing it. Surprised it took this long to reach the US. It's pretty dumb but some of the pictures are good for a laugh.

I remember reading a story earlier in the year about some guy falling off a balcony and dying while trying to plank.

At least flash mobs were amusing first time everyone saw one before they got really dumb, planking wasn't even amusing once.

People actually would watch movies of flash mobs on Youtube if they were good, that's not happening with planking.

correct, they just look at the pictures. planking in video format seems to be unnecessary.
