Getting laid at 10 years old from experienced older girl the encounter was a learning adventure. Moving from the country to the city housing project provided addition learning adventures.

Now as a parent of three girls … and the knowledge of my past. We (wife and I) provide at an early age 10 years old the Christian value of marriage, pride for self, demanding respect from others, physical difference, potential dangers and moral values lessons. We provide love, caring and open conversation in the family ….

Once they walked out that door there are only two modes of protection :
The hope that they listened and learned
Everything is in God hands

As a dad I took my daughters out for their first date: Father /daughter date 12 years old
We when to the finest restaurant, she could order anything on the menu, on that date I presented to my daughter a gold cross w/diamonds necklace. All of this I had hope would make a lasting impression and set the standard for the future. This was also the rite of passage to start dating and the trust that I have in them to be mature, responsible individuals with this freedom.

I learned everything in the fifth grade from Beth M. while spending a week of recesses on the wall (punishiment for B&E of a teachers room to get playground balls to play dodgeball after school). I don't know who told her all this stuff but she was very detailed and I had to spend the second half of each day that week hiding behind my trapper keeper.

This. There was never a pivotal moment for "The Talk", it's been something we have been very honest and open about since he was old enough to understand the rudimentary basics. As he aged and matured, so have the discussions.

As for me, it was probably about 5 the first time it was brought up, but my parents were much more embarrassed and reluctant to really TALK about it. More like a quick lecture and then split. LOL

I don't remember how old I was, but I was pretty young. My mom worked third shift, so she slept most of the day and my dad was at work. I found a hustler in the closet and knew I shouldn't look at it, so I woke my mom up and asked her if it was ok. She wasn't really awake and just said 'sure, go ahead'. I'm sure all she wanted was to go back to sleep but I had never seen anything like that before. lol

Never had an official talk. I have a good relationship with my parents so if there was ever a question I would ask them. I knew I didn't want to have sex when I was in high school. I never dated anyone seriously or long term so in a way there wasn't really much to talk about.

These days I am probably too open with my mom and stepdad lol. And my siblings, too. I will say pretty much anything in front of all of them.

It can and is but I don't want it to be. Shouldn't I get to decide?
