I don't think it would have been wise to announce it there considering that he was not going to remain in Cleveland.

I should have said Akron. If he really cared about the city as much as he says, he wouldn't have moved it to Connecticut

lol at ESPN. People always try to make this into a Cleveland fan thing, but it's obviously a national thing since the national media decided to cover the whole decision a year later. Who needs to get over it now?

Also, LeBron could have easily donated the money instead of raising money while gut punching the whole city of Cleveland.

seems people outside of Cleveland care more about it than Cleveland fans.

I said it on another thread, but OSU's PR department is going head to head with Lebron with their handling of tattoo gate.

Its the slowest time of thet year for sports really(especially with 2 lockouts so nothing to report about the NBA or NFL off season). They always have stupid stories around this time of the year

The Decision was badly bungled, but I still think he made the right decision in leaving. After all those years in Cleveland, the best they could surround him with was Boobie Gibson, Mo Williams, and Anderson Varejao.

And still they won 66 games. They worked great together.

Would be a much more valid argument had the Cavaliers not been the best team in the NBA in back to back seasons. If they won 45 games a year, I could accept this excuse.

They may have had the best record, but I wouldn't say that they were the "best" team 2 years in a row.

And neither were the CHeat... yet Lebron is still in the same position he was with the Cavs...sitting at home WITHOUT a ring.

As far as the Decision "One Year Later"...I agree with the "it's the slow season" comment. I don't think a lot of people would've remembered the exact date of this had it not been rehashed.

Agreed but who said or implied that the Heat were?

This. There was no way that team was ever going to get over the hump. It was a flawed team, especially against the Celtics.

I still chuckle when people try and make arguments about how good a team is because of the regular season. The nba regular season is a complete joke. Most teams bide their time for the playoffs.

i think lebron's exit (and how badly he mishandled it) will stick with lebron for his entire career.

The heat were the favorite to win the championship after knocking off a dismantled Boston team.

Okay....and I had said that just because the Cavs had the best record two years in a row didn't mean that they were the best team in the NBA those two seasons.

I'm not really seeing the connection there....
