Lord of the Rings
Star Wars 4, 5, and 6
Godfather - I haven't watched all of 3 but the first 2 hold enough weight to put it in the discussion.

I think once Dark Night Rises comes out, it will be right up there at the top.

If they wouldn't have brought in Scream 4, I would have said the Scream series just because it revolutionized horror movies.

Pirates of the Caribbean? Which movie are you leaving out? 1, 2, 3, or 4?

OG Star Wars
BTTF (though the 3rd was horrendous)
Matrix thats about it, overall I'd say a full on good trilogy is difficult to produce which each movie being really good.

I would go ...

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark/Temple of Doom/Last Crusade (Love them all, and for some reason, I enjoyed the 3rd one the best -- a rarity)
2. Lord of the Rings 1,2,3 -- visual masterpiece, yes it was long, but tremendous work
3. Star Wars Episode IV, V, VI -- Empire is one of my alltime favorite movies, I dropped this only because I really don't love Episode IV
4. Godfather 1, 2, 3 -- Amazing, Spectacular and Ehhh, OK

On a side note, while the original Matrix was just insanely unique and fun to watch, I thought the sequels were horrendous and drawn-out, I could barely keep my eyes open.

Good call with the Pink Panther movies! Classics.

I will go along with the Indiana Jones trilogy (I do not consider the 4th one even worthy of being "Indiana" movies) and Back to the Future (how can anyone not like those?) the two others that I am partial to.

Other than those, I am not really a fan of the other trilogies. Maybe the new Batman ones, if they can be considered. Maybe Porky's and the Naked Guns. I am a fan of comic book movies, but the Spiderman movies were hard to watch (maybe just #3 and possibly #2) and the X-Men movies (before Origins and First Class came out).

I pretty much agree with that order. I couldn't get into the Back to the Future sequels, the Matrix was a one hit wonder, not sure anything else even comes close to the 4 listed above.

It is amazing what an incredible film Raiders of the Lost Ark is - that movie could be released today and it wouldn't have aged a bit. Last Crusade was probably the most "fun" of the three but Allison Doody's acting is subpar.

I made it about 40 minutes into Godfather III before I had to turn it off. It was just weird.

The plot is way too convoluted, too much time has taken place since II (Al Pacino did not age well and he's into HOOAHHH mode) and Sofia Coppola is a disaster. People defend it but it just isn't a good movie, it is a mess.

The Matrix was the opposite....first one was a classic...the following two were almost unwatchable.
