I love the use of the word "hypothetically". I'm going to have to riff off that anytime I don't feel like admitting something.

"Look dude, maybe your wife hypothetically decided to try some new dick and I was hypothetically in favor of taking that job. No biggie!"

It doesn't matter anymore for him...

But to say this
"I'll say hypothetically I don't have any more of my Florida jerseys," Crowder said Sunday. "There were some Jacksonville businessmen that really hypothetically liked my play."
You are just an idiot.

not hammered. but something. the problem everyone seems to overlook about the OSU shit is that the coach knew for a year and signed compliance letters and the like. as long as none of this gets traced back to the coaching staff, they'll be okay. and if it did go that far, it'd be linked to zook, so watch out Illini.

The question I have is.....how much can Florida get punished seeing how Florida is now with their second coach past Zook and he is now at Another school?

Is there a statute of limitations on this stuff? I know there is when it comes to activating the repeat violator clause, but what about in general?

If thats the case then we would be in the clear correct?

The more NFL guys keep bringing this up, the more likely OSU gets hammered because the NCAA is going to try and stop it. IMO. So actually by many people sticking up for them, it might end up biting them in the ass.

Right because the NCAA has never done anything like that before.

If they're going to "stop it", then North Carolina is about to get hammered, Oregon is going to get hammered, Auburn (eventually) will get hammered, Alabama should've gotten a stiff penalty when Marcell Dareus took nearly $2,000 and Georgia should've gotten hit hard. The Fiesto Bowl should no longer be a bowl game since the NCAA is "putting a stop" to all of this. I know - none of this is as bad as what OSU did, but still they're violations of NCAA rules and they're going to put a stop to it all - right? Get a clue, no one knows what's going to fucking happen.

If you mean "Never done anything arbitrarily, inconsistently, or whatever-we-feel-like-edly"- then I get your point.

The biggest shock to this story is "Who in their right Fkn mind gave Channing Crowder a radio talk show?"

OSU will not get hammered. 15 scholarships over 3 years, and call it a day.

Im pretty sure all jerseys and everything have to be turned in. If he was allowed to keep his jersey, that alone is a violation isnt it?

I'd think they can get into as much trouble as the NCAA wants if they want to investigate. I don't see how they would really be able to take stuff this old and run with it...you need trails of stuff for this and most of the leads/contacts are probably gone.

agreed, but he sure knows how to get publicity for it! WQAM 560 am radio would never have gotten talked about all over ESPN and message boards without this hype.

4 years unless it has been on ongoing investigation or there is a long standing precedent (ie they find evidence of this going very deep and very far back as a "ring" type of thing)

He made it clear, however, that he didn't actually sell his jerseys while he played for the Gators. He was drafted by the Dolphins in 2005.
"I have all four of them," he said, referring to his home and road jerseys from the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He said his mother has two and he has the other two.

I disagree with what he says, it's your assigned number while you attend and play. Its not yours to sell while there. The school sells jerseys and makes millions and that pays tuition for 85 players a year.
95% of students are scraping for money to buy books and supplies, I have no sympathy for a player saying 'I need money'.
If they don't want to be 'used' by the school, then don't play football. They can pay their own way, and pay back loans when they get out.

agreed, sadly.
