A lot of people jump the gun and buy into too much early on.
It's taking some time for this year's Steelers to give some new players increased playing time to try and find the right mixture.
The right tackle Marcus Gilbert, a rookie, had a great game Sunday before going out with an injury. He's young and is getting better. Max Starks is not an All Pro but he's an upgrade from Jonathan Scott. Already the offensive line is improved at just those two spots, if Gilbert is ok.
It's tough for the Steelers to come to the realization that guys like Hampton and Smith are in decline. They've been awesome players for a long time. The younger players on the defensive line are going to play more and help the rotation. Chris Hoke is a sturdy veteran who holds his own when he has to play.
Not a great start but they're still set up for a playoff type year. I'd favor New England and Baltimore as the top two teams but the Steelers would be my next team that has a chance of winning in that divisional round and making the AFC Championship.
