Well it comes down to this for me. Pujols hasn't missed enough time up to this point in his career to hinder his team's success or the numbers he puts up. Morneau has missed quite a bit of time and hasn't been the same Morneau we usually see since he's come back. I think he's only hitting around .230 right now with only a few HR's and RBI's.

I understand your criteria. Again, I was under the impression that right now was being put into the equation as in the people currently playing.

It's my thread and I left the opinions up to each person. I made my point pretty clear. If you wanna do a top 10 hitters and not include Pujols...have at it. I refuse to spend another second defending why someone would put Albert Pujols on the 10 best hitters in baseball list.

The difference between Pujois and Morneau is that one is a very healthy guy (fewest games in a season: 143) who suffered an injury about a week ago and the other is a guy who played in 135/162 games in 2009, 81/162 last year and currently 55/73 this year (with poor numbers).
That's a total of 271 games. Pujois has played 392 in that time period, missing a total of 5 over the past two years. It doesn't take much logic to tell the difference.

No, No. I agree that you left the criteria open. I understand now. It's opinion. There's not an incorrect list here at all. I was critiquing but rather trying to understand. That's all.
By the way I don't think anyone would suggest that Pujols isn't a great hitter. He's just a hitter that's not able to hit at all right now.

Yeah....I'm close to being sold on Castro....he keeps it going a while longer and he'll be closer to my top 10.....he may be a top 5 guy the next 10 years.

He'll have to avoid being benched for that to happen. No matter what a guy's reputation for power is, you'd think a team would only allow a .175 average combined with a dramatic loss of power (7 HR now is WAY OFF his usual 38-40 pace) to play regularly.

Im too lazy, but I would bet $$$ that if you combined the stats of Dunn and Uggla, it doesnt match Adrian Gonzalez in any offensive category.

Obvious homering here but I'd have to say Cabrera. He's just got unreal power and hits for contact in the much superior American League. In all honesty the NL hitters shouldn't really count except for Pujols
