Just curious what your opinion is when it comes to curse words, is it considered a sin?

If you are arguing and call someone a Motherfucker, is the other person correct to state that you need to repent sins or you will go to hell for committing a sin?

No. Not at all.

The other person should also not be such a judge-y douche.

Anything that separates you further from God is a sin. Do you fell your usage of words in name calling was bringing you closer to purity of heart and soul?

As soon as someone drops the religion card on me I stop paying attention to them.

Sure, I'd say it's a sin. I don't think it sends you to hell, though, as the number of our sins isn't relevant to that issue.

I don't think sinning is the determinant in whether one goes to hell or not but then again I don't think Password was really posting his question for the purpose of gaining an answer.

Yes I was, I was curious what people thought about curse words being considered a sin by some of the religious groupies.

Picking your brain, is the sin saying "motherfucker" or insulting the person?

Both, though I'd say the latter is more serious. Language evolves and is culturally dependent, so it's not like uttering some certain set of letters is forever a sin, IMO.

The bigger issue is the condition of the heart.

Calling someone a "motherfucker" is a fightable offense calling someone an" idiot" can be overlooked or came back on with similar response..Is calling someone a "******" a sin ? Isnt being a "******" in of itself a sin? and if by chance someone is a "******" is it a sin to point that out? ....Not that there is anything wrong with being a "******".......

I don't believe that it is, no.

However, I would contend that the way in which we use our words, regardless of what those words may be, can be wrong.

Yep..Its the manner in which it is intended..Using a slur in a particular parties presents can be offensive.. If you are in the classroom teaching ,or learning about social sciences or reading a book out lowed.. I say using the word "motherfucker" can only be offensive " ofcourse If you are doing a movie or play alot of times that word is in the content...Still can it be construed as a sin ... In some circles yes ....Id say the phras Mr son of a bitch has been applied to many things including hitting your thumb with a hammer .....So then I might ask ... Is calling an inanimate object a "bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep " a sin hmmmmm

In a vacuum, no.

I couldn't understand most of what you were saying, but I got the last question.

Kobe and NOah from the Bulls get fines heavy for using the F word that is gay word .. I wonder if Noah had called that Miami heat fan a motherfucker instead would he have been fined or let alone put on the news ...Its just the climate which we live in

We disagree there then. I do not think swearing is a sin.

I'm not a mod. And gay and racial slurs are worse than motherfucker, at least in my opinion.
