Yeah I agree. I just don't think they're bold or dumb enough to try to cover something up or look the other way or pretend something isn't there when every journalist under the sun has been digging and turning over rocks trying to find every possible infraction by OSU players since the beginning of time.

I think it's fair that cheating will never go away. I guess I mean the major stuff that affects the outcome of the game itself. Recruiting advantages mostly.

My only point is that you shouldn't feel odd...you should feel like these guys are the ones who know the best, they are the smartest in the business..if they weren't, they wouldn't be at OSU. If there was any doubt, they would go through w/ the investigation.

I don't feel odd at all.

The biggest recruiting advantage OSU has had over Michigan is the fact that for three years, RR was recruiting quick and small players that cannot play Big Ten football.

I'd say this is VERY good news. Although its not cleared by the NCAA, I can't help but not to believe that the NCAA and BMV have had some contact. As far as OSU compliance not looking into if further...I highly doubt they did not look into it. They found nothing as far as violations, so why continue to look? And maybe they have been in contact with the NCAA during this as well and know nothing will come of the car issue. OSU has screwed up anough to date, I HIGHLY doubt they are just pushing this to the side. I'll gaurantee jobs are on the line as far as the compliance area is concerned after all that has happened. Its a wait and see right now, but any good news at this point, I'll take.

...and now another organization,The Ohio Independent Automobile Dealers Association conducting a seperate review, has reported that the dealers made an average of $2000 over wholesale per vehicle in 24 of the 25 transactions made by players and/orfamily memebers. Only in one transaction was a car sold for a loss...and that involved a car on the lot for over 150 days....not an unusual transaction that anyone could have made. This transaction did not involve Pryor.

Personally, I have found this witch hunt to be shameful. What has transpired has far exceeded the the seriousness of the 'violations' and is further proof that the system is indeed broken. Ohio State needs to stop self flagellating and await the NCAA findings. The Columbus Dispatch needs to be taken to task for shoddy journalism, and to quit throwing shit up against the wall trying to sell newspapers. There is no way that a coach should have lost his job, nor that a QB should have been literally run out of school to satisfy the cravings of those who would have been at home in Salem. I'm really just disgusted reading these posts.

You nailed it. Ohio State needn't worry about the NCAA in August. The worst thing that could happen to the OSU football program has already taken place.

I'm not worried about new stuff at this point. Losing Jim Tressel is (and I think will prove to be in the future) worse for OSU than a few years of bowl bans and scholarship losses. Those things wouldn't be as important to me (if I were a recruit) as stability in the coaching staff.

Losing Tressel was a tragedy, a travesty, and an abomination. It was just as bad as running a kid out of college for selling a pair of football pants. Quite frankly, I'm pissed at those at the University who didn't have the marbles to stand up and be proud of their institution and it's attempts in 'compliance' to a system that badly needs an overhaul.

C'mon. The guy LIED to the NCAA. Is he a bad person? Not at all. In fact, from all the first-hand stories I've heard, he is an exceptional human being. Yeah, he is....so did the punishment fit the crime? The NCAA hasn't even weighed in yet. All this is, is a bunch of candy ass cowards trying to save some illusion of integrity in a system that has none of it.
You keep you coach, and you keep the kid in school, you take the punishment from the NCAA, and you go forward.
