While at the Reds game recently I thought of a thread....mainly thanks to Paul Janish.

If you were in the big leagues.....what would be used for your "at bat" song?

Also...what 3 songs would you use to embarrass a young rookie for his "at bat" song?

For me: either old school Livin on a Prayer or maybe a little Tinie Written in the Stars

For the Rookie:

1. How Can We Be Lovers If We Can't Be Friends....Michael Bolton

2. Do You Really Want To Hurt Me...Boy George

3. Hangin Tough.....New Kids on the Block

The songs for you are just a shitty as the songs you'd pick for a rookie. Nice fail

That was definitely jackass over hardass. Again, way to pick songs that would make a pitcher laugh at you.

My at-bat song would be: Hair of the Dog - Nazareth

It was certainly more jackass and no song is apparently hardass enough for you.

I am embarrassed a bit about picking 2 songs that YOU believe would make a pitcher laugh at me...in my dreams of course. Nothing is worse than speculated dream embarrassment.

On SB Nation, they do weekly team rankings based on various criteria not related to actual on-field performance. This led to the perfect song.
4. Seattle Mariners - Iron Maiden - "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner"

If I were a closer for the Mariners, this would be my entrance song. I’d make them play all 13 minutes before I’d throw a pitch. I’d finish warming up, and then I’d just stare the hitter down for ten minutes as Maiden rocked everyone’s face off. This is probably why I’m not a closer, other than my lack of athletic ability.

Assuming I play for the Indians, all hometown based, I'll list four since I'd be batting at the top of the order:

NIN- Ringfinger
Eagles- In the City
MSB- My Town
Ian Hunter- Cleveland Rocks

Ozzy - Crazy Train (If Chipper allowed me to steal it)
Nine Inch Nails - Animal (but only the first line of the chorus, dedicated to the pitcher)

Rookie:
Rod Stewart - Have I Told You Lately (that I love you)
Miley Cyrus - The Climb (it actually kinda makes sense, and is still gay)
Britney Spears - Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman

Here's the deal with these songs: it should fit you as an individual. A guy with no pop and hitting a buck eighty has no business playing some heavy metal or hard core rap. Frankly, if you are batting .180 you shouldn't have any music at all.

I would send the rookie out to Where Have All The Cowboys Gone by Paula Cole.

Then I would come out to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and we'd have a gayoff.

Just saw this thread, lol Janish. Only thing worse than his stroke is his hillbilly country song.

Votto's is pure badass, Teen Spirit the second half of last year and Paint it Black after a few weeks this year.

I'd go with Teen Spirit or a Pearl Jam song. Probably Evenflow since it starts out great
