He's just as talented as Cam Newton who went #1 overall and is more pro ready, more experience and played in a pro style offense, not a gimmick option read offense that no one in the NFL runs with 5 yard check downs, throws/reads that I or anyone else on here could make.

The Supplemental Draft, is designed to allow underclassmen --who did not petition the league for early entry before the NFL Draft deadline but find themselves ineligible for the upcoming college season-- a vehicle for entering the NFL. The supplemental draft is held after the traditional NFL Draft and before each season begins.

The league uses a weighted three-step, semi-lottery system to determine the order of the supplemental draft as follows:

•Teams with six wins or less participate in the first lottery for the top supplemental draft picks. The team that posted the worst record among that group is given a weighted advantage over the following team, with each team's "weight" being decreased on down the line until reaching the team with the best record in the group.

•The second group consists of non-playoff teams and follows the same weighted system.

•The third group consists of last season's 12 playoff teams and, again, follows the same lottery system.
After the order is determined, each team submits to the league the name of the player(s) they are interested in, as well as the round of the supplemental draft they would like to choose them in. The team that submits the highest bid is awarded rights to the player. If more than one team bids a pick from the same round, the team with the highest pick in the round wins out.

If a team uses a pick in the Supplemental Draft, they must forfeit their choice in the corresponding round of the next years NFL Draft

So...why did Newton go #1 overall, and Pryor is projected at a 4th round AT BEST pick, with many people thinking he may have to switch positions to stick? 4th round or later or even undraftable doesn't really scream "pro ready" for a QB.

He doesn't really need to. He answered your question when he said Pryor is projected as a 4th rounder, at best, and teams feel he may have to switch positions to stick.

Maybe I missed something but I never heard anyone mention Newton switch to WR/TE. Now do I think Newton will be a good NFL QB? No, but neither will Pryor.

Matt Jones was a 1st rounder, Armanti Edwards was a 3rd rounder, and Pat White was a 2nd rounder.

I just can't see any way Pryor slips to the 5th/6th round, even if he is going to have to switch positions.

Jones was drafted as a WR after running a sub 4.4 40 at the combine. Edwards was also drafted as an athlete I think, and White was cut and is playing baseball at the moment. Pryor is going to give it a go at QB, and that is why he is given the current draft grades.

Yeah, but even though he wants to give QB a go, I think most scouts/teams already see him as a WR eventually, and I think someone will take a gamble on the potential in an earlier round, because he has a great combo of size/strength/speed.

If he was being drafted strictly as a QB the round placement would make sense, but switching positions is always an option and the physical tools that teams drool over are all there.

Since when have GM's been spot on in their analysis though.

Neither Pryor OR Newton will amount to much at QB IMO. Newton never ran a pro style offense and Pryor has so many kinks in his throwing motion and most of the GMs and scouts say his completion % is misleading. Not to mention theyre both borderline retarded

They have identical records, identical conference records, and were both non playoff teams.

St. Louis. They had the lower strength of schedule with an overall opponent winning percentage of .477 while Miami's opponents were at .516.
