I can agree with that, Lebron is still the best player in the league, despite his inconsistency closing games.

Dirk doesn't defend well and is a below average rebounder for his size, Durant is a great scorer and decent rebounder but is a below average defender and is a selfish score first player who is a below average play maker and passer. Melo doesn't defend and is a look at the rim first player, doesn't pass the ball when he should. None of those guys are near Lebron James imo as the total package.

At this moment, my top 5 NBA players: DWade, Dirk, Kobe, Durant, Melo.

Replace Howard for Melo and the list is accurate.

How do you figure? If you make that switch, the list is no longer Bayless' top 5, which would make it inaccurate.

LeBron is easily a top 5 player in the NBA. You can argue his clutchness, or what have you about playoff performances etc. But stat wise, skill wise, physicality, and complete game make him EASILY in the top 5.

Considering that maybe a little over a year ago (before the East semi's) we were debating whether he was THE top player...I'd say his stock has fallen a bit. At this rate we might be debating whether he is top 5 in anyones book next year.

Right, and you will continue to look foolish if you do.

Anyone who thinks Bron is not a top 5 player in the League is just straight dumb.

I would say there's still quite a bit of debate about whether he's THE top player.

Top 3 for sure.
