The point you were making was that OSU was not relevant since Maurice Clarett, I have provided 2 examples of seasons in which OSU was relevant. They may not have been relevant at halftime of either of those national champsionhip games, but nonetheless they were relevant at some points after Clarett; especially since they were ranked #1 in the BCS going into the title games in the 2006 and 2007 seasons and a fairly heavy favorite in the 2006 ('07 game) title game.

This year's BCS game was widely criticized for the selection of Florida to play after they beat out the more favored Michigan. Ohio State was then made a huge -7 to -8 favorite to beat Florida.
