Going to check out Super 8 in a bit. Definitely skeptical but with it being made my J.J Abrams and Spielberg it has to be decent doesn't it? Ha what do you guys think?

I think it looks sweet, with nice special effects. Why you skeptical?

I was skeptical because I don't generally dig movies where the main characters are kids but they actually did a decent job. Elle Fanning is going to be a good actress. Couple things I didn't care for but overall it was entertaining.

That tends to be a big worry for me. Especially when one of the main commercials has some stupid-looking kid cheesily yelling "OAH MAI GOD!!!". I'll watch the movie if someone can assure me that kid gets ripped apart piece by piece in a disturbing 10-minute gore-drenched slaughter while everyone else cheers.

For some reason, I didn't think that would go down in a Spielberg movie, but I was holding out hope!

Yeah, I just don't generally care for movies that have kids as the main characters. There are exceptions of course (Monster Squad, Stand By Me, Goonies etc). This one was decent but nothing that special. Wes said earlier it is getting rave reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and I don't really get why but that is just me I suppose.

Kind of E.T. like, except with a not so cute and cuddly alien...lol. Fun movie, would definitely see it again.

Looks awesome to me, can't wait for the blu-ray, I don't bother with theaters anymore (have a baby, and I hate everyone there).

I enjoyed. It wasn't anything too great, I'd give it a B.

Just got back from the 1130 show. Nothing special IMO. Kinda slow. Looked like it was gonna be pretty sweet up til the train wreck but then it just kinda drags. Idk. Wish I'd have saved my 10 bucks.

The kids were good as the main characters I thought. Enjoyed that part of it. I'm thinking this is only the second flick I've seen by JJ Abrams, the other being Cloverfield which sucked major major MAJOR balls. So I'm not too impressed w this dude.

Yeah, he hasn't done anything special yet in the movie field. He however has two shows that give him credit. (Lost and Fringe)

star trek was really good. i want to check out super 8 in theaters.

Yeah, Star Trek wasn't bad. I'm just not really into it.
