Unfortunately, other than Jay Bruce's play this year, nothing excites me about the Reds, and makes me think that they will play well on the West coast. I just hope they're not 10 games out by the time they get back.

Have to see what SL has the next 7 days. I HOPE the reds can salvage 3-4 on the trip. Just hope that SL doesnt do much better than that.

For some reason I am not afraid of the brewcrew

I wouldn't imagine the Cards go much less than 7-3 over the next 10. 1 more w/ Houston, 3 w/ Milwaukee, then 3 a piece w/ the Nats & KC. Probably 5-2 over the next 7.

So, best case scenario we can expect is the reds to lose 2 games on this roady.

Starting to dig themselves a hole....

You can only control your wins and losses....but understand the reasoning.

I don't feel the Reds are anything above average...but still enjoy following them. In my mind I feel Dusty Baker is a very good guy, father, husband and friend....but I believe if he had the best player since Babe Ruth and a 3-2 series lead in the World Series and a 5-1 lead in the 7th that he'd find a way to lose it.....not that it's happened....just my thoughts.

Very possible, I hope it is not as bad as the last road trip. And then the 5-4 homestand wasn't what the doctor ordered after that -- needed to average a win in each three game series(6-3).

Yes, those were the days! I remember in 1970 they had a really good trip out west early in the spring, and I'd be supposed to be wrinting freshman English themes, and I'd get caught up in the broadcast with Joe and someone before Marty(Claude Sullivan, Jim McIntyre, or Al Michaels) and not getting a lick of my theme done until after the game was over at 2am or so. Back then the games usually started at 8:05 pm local time(but didn't take as long as now). Wayne Simpson had a hot start to the season, and if I recall correctly, pitched two great games on a 9 game road trip to SF, LA, and the brand new team in SD. Simpson had a gaudy record and made the all star game, but wasn't much good after that. The Reds got a big lead and won the pennant, but weren't much match for the Orioles, then came together in 1972 when they got Morgan, Geronimo, and Billingham from the Astros.

This Giants lineup is pretty terrible, Reds will strike out 40 times and still take 3 of 4.

I remember as far back as Waite Hoyt and Frank McCormick. I saw Stan Musial play in Crosley Field. I remember Joe Nuxhall and the Reds winning a game in which the opposing pitcher threw a no hitter. I remember the Reds avoiding a loss in extra innings by turning a triple play with runners on 1st and 3rd(bad baserunning by the runner on 3rd on a ground ball - deciding to try for home as the throw was going from 2nd to 1st)).

I got a transistor radio for Christmas in 1960 and got hooked on Buckeye basketball(Lucas, Havlicek, Siegfried) and Reds baseball.

You'd think as old as I am I'd be dead set against calling balls and strike electronically!

Cueto can't throw a strike but stupid Giants get thrown out trying to steal.

The Giants atrocious offense should keep the Reds in these games, but they have to get some timely hits.
