I am still ticked about the Boise-TCU matchup. That is freaking ridiculous and really seems like they are trying to save a major conference from having to play them. It also may be a strategy to ensure they'll have 1 less undefeated at the end too, to avoid complete controversy.

Yeah, I'm surprised that Boise got the bid. I mean, I don't know who really deserved it over them, but these two played last year and no one cared. I guess the Fiesta is banking on this being "the little guy bowl" or something. It might work, as I alluded to before, most people probably don't even realize they played each other last year.

Problem with that is while Florida's offense hasn't been great, it'll be one of the best offenses they've played this season.

You can't expect Florida not to put points on them when Illinois had no trouble. If Illinois could execute, they would have beat them. Florida can usually execute.

Cincy will have their hands full with Florida's D though, which is why I don't think they'll win.

But if I've learned one thing lately about these BCS games, is that you can't write off anybody.

I wouldn't say I am surprised, I knew it would be Penn St/Iowa however, I am also just as sure that Iowa is probably going to exposed. That's just not a very good football team. Northern Iowa can vouch for that

Would you also say that Oregon and Ohio State aren't good football teams because Purdue lost by 2 to Oregon and beat OSU?

I'm not looking TOO far into the NIU game because it's early in the season.

But I do think that there are some better teams than Iowa, just so you know that we are in agreement.

Ehhh...we will see. I'm not holding my breath about it. BCS games for the past few years have not been pretty for the Big Ten. USC has made it an annual rite of passage to beat down a hapless Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl by double digits (Michigan in 2006, Illinois in 2007, and Penn State in 2008) and Ohio State hasn't fared much better, although they at least looked like they belonged on the same field as Texas last year, not that I or anyone else should be content with that moral victory. I could see Iowa getting beat pretty handily by GT, although the ACC is pretty crappy in BCS games itself, just having won its first BCS game last year (I know, Florida State won the title in 99, but they beat Virginia Tech, whose in the ACC now...doesn't count haha). Ohio State vs. Oregon will be interesting...its going to come down to who can dictate the pace of the game between Oregon's offense and OSU's defense. If OSU falls behind early, I can see them getting beat pretty badly, because Tresselball is definitely not suited for playing from behind. Otherwise, its anybodys ball game.

So much of whether Ohio State "is good" depends on which Tressel gets on the bus each week. If he comes to the field with a slight tinge of aggression, Ohio State is just fine, however when he starts panicking and loses his ability to know when to kick FGs & punt /when to go for it, and also when he forgets that he can make other play calls besides the HB draw that everybody knows is coming; that's when they struggle. There is also another startling corollary in games where they lose, Tress and the Coaching staff refuse to adjust in game whether it be offensively or defensively.

A 4 loss Oregon State?
A 4 loss Stanford?
A 3 loss Pitt that played in a conference with the SOS very close to the Big Ten's.

The only team I think you could really argue is Va Tech or LSU who had 3 losses, two coming from teams playing in BCS bowls.

My point was basically to ask if you can really hold those losses/close games against those teams when they were so early in the season.
