Well then why dont we sign Charles Rogers? He hasn't played a down in a few seasons, he's got to be fresh! /sarcasm. I hope you see the fail in your arguement.

Well ya gotta "kick the tires" on the guy first (drills, pass routes, timed sprints, etc) before signing him to a contract. If he runs his 40 like Jared Lorenzen you just say "no thanks."

Yeah wanna bring him in for a look sure, I just think their idea as to why they should "just sign him for a vet min" is flawwed. The guy will be 34 this year and has a proven track record as an idiot. Not sure what the appeal is.

As I mentioned I don't see him being an option for the Browns because they are so far away from contending. A team with a "win now" philosophy might take a shot. Now if Savage was still the GM he'd have been wearing Orange & Brown walking off the prison yard. ;)

I didn't say anywhere that he worked out...or that Vick worked out.

I said he was like Vick in that his time in prison he was letting his body heal from the years of getting knocked around. That is not an exception....just common sense.

oh.......and fuck the Browns

lol

This is straight from the espn article:

Burress violated prison rules and regulations three times: He lied to a guard about having permission to use the phone; gave another inmate a pair of black and silver sneakers that were deemed contraband; and had too many cassette tapes and an unauthorized extra pillow in his "filthy" cell.

Charles Rogers sucked, and has always sucked. What comparison is there to be made? Burress was good. His legs and body will be more fresh, I dont see how that is debatable.

If I had a veteran team that was one piece away from being a serious contender, I would take him in a heartbeat. With that being said, the Browns aren't that team, so I probably wouldn't take him on the Browns.

Fair point...but difference remains. Burress proved himself at the NFL level, Rodgers didn't. Hell look at Mike Williams, he was off for a few years and had a productive season for Seattle last year. I think the Rams would be the best situation for Plax. Need an upgrade at WR for Bradford plus the familiarity with Spags. Plus the Rams are realistically competing for the playoffs considering that they play in the NFC West.

I really thought he was becoming the player he should be when he was playing for NY. If he wasn't a dumbass and didn't carry a gun, let alone shoot himself, we might have been talking about how he is currently a top NFL WR.

or maybe even making a claim to be deserving of the HOF with a couple of good year to add on.....but he screwed himself quite good

He's gotta come back full go serious to get back some of that huge money he lost on his contract......a fella gotta live!

Why are people talking about him getting smarter...

He was wearing sweat pants, in a club, with a gun and shot himself in the leg.

I don't see this guy getting any smarter. ;)
