Story of this series...Reds getting a lot of guys on base, but struggle to get them in.

My dad told me to put the Reds away, they aren't good for my health. I think I may have to take his advice.

Seems as if both Ohio teams haven't been doing too hot since the "battle of ohio" series.

Heard Heisey has 15 starts on the season? I know some of you aren't as big on Heisey as I am, but come on 15 starts? How can he prove himself? Plus both Gomes and Lewis aren't good defensively, and neither is doing a thing offensively. Let Heisey play. If he can't cut it, call up Alonso. But at least give him a chance.

For whatever reason the small sample size never was considered. He got 8 starts over 40 games...struggled and is a pinch- hitter for his career with the Reds.

Gomes has been pretty good before and Lewis looks like Mike Cameron...but his ceiling has proven to be role player over years of trial. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Heisey is Janish about 2 years ago. We still don't know if Janish will hit above .240 to go with his solid defense, but at least after 10 others got a chance...we pretty much know what Janish can do. Heisey has not gotten the chance it took Janish so long to get...we'll give anyone who has ever had any success at all a chance over him.

Why not give Heisey 3 starts every 4 games until late July? I mean shit Dusty has given a dozen others a chance to redeem their ways from 5 years ago until we about blew these boards up...why not let Heisey get 30 starts in the next 45 days and then have a much more proven accurate idea of what he can do?

There is no reason with this current roster not to do it. Trade for Nelson Cruz and then it's OK not to give Heisey a fair shot.

And no I don't see a future all-star or anything...but he will do at least as much as Gomes or Lewis.

Agreed.

Gotta see what he can do. DB needs to tell him, 'hey man, gonna give you an extended starting streak so a couple of 0fer games wont get ya sent to the bench.

A spot start here and there can be tough as he feels he needs to go 4 for 3 to stay into the lineup. PInch hitting....yeah it is tough but you are expected to make outs pretty much!

Give him a shot...start him 20 games and see where he goes from there.
