My local newspaper just announced this week a fee will be charged to read their paper online.

Remember folks, the old OC will NEVER charge you to post. Ever. Because that's dumb as ass.
Thanks !!! Of course one should never ever have to pay to post on a Minor League site.

Well, if they've fucked up everything else as far as business plans go, what's one more fuck up? A drop in the bucket of colossal blunders.

A lot of papers are going that route. Only because subscriptions are so down because they offer the free paper online. A lot of papers will charge for parts of the paper (like Obituaries, or High School Sports, etc). Or just charge for the Sunday paper.

they never learn. When newspapers first went online they went that route. Then when they realized that people won't pay for stuff on the internet that is readily available elsewhere, they make it free. Then somebody gets greedy and tries to make people pay and the cycle repeats

Sounds a lot like what 'another site that cannot be uttered on here' did.

For the record, Bleacher Seats looks still free and accessible to me (and I'm not a a premium member either). It must have just been something temporary...maybe some type of error. I doubt they're ignorant enough to make the entire site a "pay site." There are only about 45 people that post on there already....

My guess is it was an intentional error. Basically just testing the waters to see what the response was. If there was an uproar just say "Ooops, that wasn't supposed to happen." If no uproar, hey, $36 more for the year.

Little League. Coach Pitch even.

Of course, those of us who joined in Nov. of '09, will be grandfathered in. Yes?

It's Bush's fault.
