I don't have access to Lexus Nexus or a similar way of searching media to see how many stories have appeared on any one subject -- but I'd bet real hard cash OSU has had far more stories related to this issue than USC ever had with Bush. The Bush stuff came out by Yahoo and then essentially disappeared for the next 3 years, except for an occasional story.

When the NCAA finally got involved, it really wasn't much of a story even then. Not like what we're seeing here.

In any event, I suspect the digging will be pretty much done with the SI story, and then it will be follow ups related to what the NCAA might end up doing -- and lobbying by some media for the NCAA to hammer OSU simply because they want their pound of flesh.

...and you don't find that the least bit perplexing or contrary to your assertion?

My original point was OUTSIDE of this story and Clarett, they haven't been in the news. Isn't that what was being said?

The 5 players for OSU who started the whole thing should be kicked off of the team.

That would "dampen" the NCAA banhammer even further.

Agreed. I said the same thing

It would be nice to see Fickell take a stand and kick these guys off the team

So when does Auburn return their National title? Total bullshit that the NCAA ignores the obvious facts that Auburn cheated their way to a title.

I truly believe that with the Oregon, Auburn, and Ohio State stories this past year, reporters are going to dig into all the big programs. Yahoo sports has already announced that they have two stories coming up, one that makes the Tressel story seem small.

Nothing big, but a few funny tweets:
Former Michigan running back Mike Hart: Great day for America! Sad day 4 Big 10, Hate OSU but tressel was a great coach! Would rather beat them when he's the coach than some1 else
Former Ohio State receiver Ray Small: Lol what y'all gone do 2 me that man resigned his self if u don't like me [bleep] u!!

Some are assuming that it was an attempt to get out in front of the SI article

So I think it could appear that OSU is getting hammered more, when in reality it has more to do with the timeline.

Also, I didn't say Michigan got as much coverage. That was my point. At the time, it seemed like we were all over the news. But it's because I read every piece and watched every show. I scoured the message boards defending and discussing. So it SEEMED like we were in the media spotlight, but really we weren't.
Well, I disagree. I think OSU/Tressel have gotte more national attention than USC. And its not even finished yet. And I happen to think UM/RichRod got more attention than USC did as well.

Uggh. Why do we keep coming back to this. Stop talking about other places. Tress did the one thing that you cannot do. You cannot hide information from the NCAA. You cant have players accepting discounts for memoribilia. And if you, you cant cover it up.

If you do all of that, you better be prepared to pay the piper. Stop blaming the media and stop whining. It really makes my head want to explode

Commenting about media coverage is NOT whining. Sheesh, people who get antsy about things being discussed on a DISCUSSION FORUM makes my head want to explode. You don't like it, then ignore it.

Absolute horse shit. EVERY big time college football program in this country has PLENTY of skeletons in their own closets...and the NC fucking AA knows it and participates in it.

When big time MONEY is involved in anything, you can be absolutely certain that corruption, lying, and cheating follow suit. To believe otherwise is beyond naive.

Yeah and it's only the beginning. Why the media has such a hard-on for Ohio State is beyond me. When the Buckeyes keep winning despite the sniping, the media frenzy will only worsen.

I hate seeing links to trash like that. It only helps the writers and the site.

do you want some cheese with that whine? will you ever stop crying. OSU is getting what they deserve. after all they are THEE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY that parade around like they are squeaky clean and above the scandal that hit other programs.
