My wife and I are going Saturday. Reviews were pretty bad....hope it's just the critics lacking a sense of humor and being harsh because it's a sequel.

I want a review from you on this, bigdaddy2003. I'm debating taking my girlfriend this weekend if it's "theater worthy." If not, I'll wait for the dvd.

Yeah, in the previews it looks like it could be good so I will go with my instincts on this one. Did the critics like the first one does anyone know? Well Frothy I just basically proved my point of why not to listen to critics if you want to go see a flick. I just read some of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. People we all know this movie won't be an academy award winner. They acted shocked it wasn't a "great movie."

BR, will do. How much do you like the first one? Because that is what I will grade it on.

Hangover Average Critic Review - B (Roger Ebert gave it an A-)
Hangover 2 Average Critic Review - C+ (Roger Ebert gave it a C)

New York Times:
...largely mirthless...
Boston Globe:
The movie’s an unclean thing and a mostly unfunny one.
Chicago Tribune:
At once pushy and lazy...

New York Post:
...I have the sad duty to report I found this more elaborate, play-it-safe sequel far less fresh or funny.

On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate it "piss my pants laughing." I thought Tyson was great in his role.

The last movie I saw in a theater with my husband was Glory Road in 2006. I'm thinking if I want to go see a movie anytime soon, I need to get him to take me to see this one. I may not get a chance to see a movie for another 5 years.

Loved the first one and if there's even a chance that this one is as good I'd say it's worth the price of admission.

"If you want to avoid plot spoilers for The Hangover Part II, don't watch The Hangover."

My friend got a bunch of free tickets for an afternoon showing today, and I agreed to go. I already am regretting. I knew something was up when no reviews came out until this morning. Normally when movies don't come out with reviews before the movie comes out, they are trying to hide something. 33% on rottentomatoes is pretty shitty. Just to compare Gnomeo and Juliet has a better rating smh. BR I will give you a review too. Bigdaddy thinks every movie is great.

All I want to know is it worth the price of the ticket? I'm not expecting a masterpiece, but I like shitty comedies, and I enjoyed the first one.

Just need to determine if its worth going or waiting for DVD release.

It's not going to be as good as the first one. i know that going in, but it could still be a funny movie, i'll take a chance on it.

sidenote: hard to believe when i saw the first one my daughter was 5 months old, now she'd repeat every cuss word in the sequel.

time is flying.

Yeah, I'm not expecting Academy Award here either. I've found movies like Kingpin, A Night at the Roxbury and Zoolander hilarious so it doesn't take too much to make me laugh. If it's "stupid" enough, in a funny way, I'm down.

Well...just got a review from my girlfriend's 18 year old son. Said the movie was "horrible." Now usually an 18 year old isn't the hardest to please on the comedy front so I'm not optimistic about this movie.

Haha thats all I need. I'll save my $15. I've heard Bridesmaids is decent....worth the watch.

Actually Bridesmaids looks funny...kind of a chick flick though? Has anyone seen Pirates 4? Worth spending the money on yes or no?

It has a 33% from critics but a 94% from the audience.

It was hilarious. Similar if not the same plot as the first one, but who the hell cares about the plot in a comedy that's a sequel to the Hangover.

It kept me laughing for a good amount of it, and definitely got my $10 worth.

Well, that's good to hear. Will still probably wait for the dvd.

i'll give you my review later in the week. I thought the first one was "piss my pants" funny as well, so I think my take on it would be similar to yours.

I took my son to see Pirates 4 last Saturday night. It's better than the 3rd, but not as good as 1 or 2. He said it was his favorite of the 4.

It was also in the same boat with ratings as the Hangover 2, they were mixed. Of course, again, they're going to be more harsh since this is a sequel (actually I believe a prequel).

I would recommend Pirates 4 for sure.

I saw it last night. I thought the first one was hilarious. This one had its moments but was largely unfunny for certain stretches. Worth my $8.50 but nothing more.

Bridesmaids was very good. Pretty vulger for an all chick cast. Take your woman to it, she will think you are being good for taking her to a chick flick when it isn't that at all. Good laughs all the way through.

HORRIBLE. I tried to laugh, but really none of it was funny at all.
