Read this this morning. Note: Two traditional R's, and two of the most respected thinkers in the foreign policy realm. Scrowcroft is widely considered the best National Security Adviser under HW Bush. Both of them supported the New START Treaty, and future reductions. All of which Romney opposes all together.
The fact that Romney is out of step with the traditional foreign policy thinkers in the R field is why I cannot support him thus far.

Pretty sure that one little sentiment has been shared by a few Republican candidates. Probably why he said it: It's trendy in Republican circles to accentuate that (not without justification). No, I expect the common line of thinking be "America is even dumber than I thought to double-down on Obama". An actual cold bowl of soup literally should be capable of beating Obama.
