I just feel this is the worst and most unjust finale the show has had since the year Taylor Hicks won it (the year Christ Daughery was ousted wayyy too soon).

I watched maybe the first 2 episodes this season, and haven't watched since. Reading that Scotty is in the final reassures that I missed absolutely nothing this year.

You can stuff the voting box for your favorite...but you can't stuff the Nielsen Ratings, which will be the true indication of how America voted.

It is particularly a shame, that of all the talent on this year's group, it will end up with a dud.

I believe the finale should be:
Scotty vs James

James had moments where he was simply screaming into the mike. Yes, he had a great story to overcome and all. He simply wasnt polished enough to win this thing. Having said that, I thought Haley should have been kept last night too.

I didn't care for Adam Lambert but I liked James. Kind of weird but I thought James screamed less than Lambert. I think James and Lauren or Haley would have made a good final.

I do believe this show does need to make some changes. I think 1 or 2 votes per phone should be the maximum number. I also believe the judges should have a vote. I hate that people can vote as many times as they want.

Getting down to the top five....the final should have been James and Scotty....although Haley was consistently turning out some great stuff the past few weeks, and would have been a legit finalist. Really almost anybody would have been better than the finals YOU have now. Even with Casey, you could count on some interesting take on a song. I just can't figure out or justify Lauren. She's just a dime a dozen country music singer that comes in second to Scotty who at least has the confidence and charm to work the stage.

Even though I don't necessarily agree with little Danny that the country genre is 'detested', I agree with him in principle that there is not enough fans of the genre (or any genre for that matter) to justify both McCreery and Alaina in the finals. What is more of a factor is that you have the sub-16 set who votes like crazy, voting for the 16 year old contestants....and then you have their moms who think Lauren is cute as a button and wish they had a daughter just like her in support. Add up the support of these groups, and you have the most lackluster finals possible. Gone are the great voices (Pia, Jacob)...the great performers(James, Casey)...and the ones who could take a song and do something unique with it. (Haley, James, Casey). What you are left with is two contestants that sing the same genre, that don't do much other than sing country songs very well.

Like I said earlier, it'll be the Nielsen's that really determine the actual way that "America" feels. I don't expect that the ratings will be poor, in that it IS the finals and a lot of people are going to watch just to see who wins. But I think by AI standards..it's going to be the bottom or nearly so.
