They haven't had meaningful series that determine something meaningful. They don't hate each other.
Truth! Tribe fan here that wants to see the reds do well. Not a rivalry to me.

I'm totally indifferent when it comes to the Reds. I could care less if they win 100 games or lose 100 games. Doesnt really matter to me either way

In all honesty, not a bad series for the Reds. I know they got swept, but I like that team and I think they can take the Central (I had Milwaukee pegged there to start the year, and still have them but Cincy is good).
They got great pitching out of Wood (granted I missed the so called "meltdown") and had a tremendous effort with Bailey. Bruce and Votto are swinging a hot bat from the left side, and Phillips is consistent from the right. If they can find a 2 hole hitter (or put Brandon there and move Bruce) they will have an even better and more explosive line-up.
Today was bad, but really no shame in getting shut down by Josh Tomlin (he has shut every line-up down this year) and really played well, I guess close in the first game, not well, versus the best team in baseball (record wise) on the road. Getting swept always sucks, and I know a lot of you Reds fans dont want to admit the Tribe are good, but in the end they played close versus the best team in baseball in 2 games. Not a horrible series if you dont look at the record.

Volquez tweeted after the game that the Reds offense needs to support him more.

@DatDudeBP
Brandon Phillips
Don't worry @Reds fans! Every good team goes thru things like this... All it takes is "ONE GAME"!!!! #BELIEVE

The Reds are still BRF's second favorite team in all of MLB. So get it going until we meet again.

I agree. Not only is he a douche for that comment, but his stuff is A ball stuff right now. Maybe worse...

That's what the Indians did a couple years ago with Carmona when he was roughly as inept at doing anything right as Volquez is now. It worked. He's never been consistently good, but has been at least a serviceable above-average big league starter since then.

Especially since the offense is the only reason he has any wins this year. He has given up 21 runs in the first innings of his 10 starts.

I wonder if the Rangers would trade us Josh Hamilton back for Volquez?

Edinson's comment:
“I think everybody has to step up and start getting some runs,” Volquez said. “The last five games, we’ve scored how many runs? Thirteen in five games? (Actually 12). It’s not the way we were playing last year. We’re better than that.”

Just an FYI, I have no problems with the Reds at all. As KR said, I'm indifferent towards them...
I was simply having some fun at Midstates expense due to a few comments he made regarding the Tribe the past week.
This isn't a rivalry and I don't really care much for the series....

Carmona has actually been very good since that took place. Last year he had a 3.77 ERA and this year I think his ERA would be low 3's if not for the Chi Sox batting him around twice.

And seriously, all the bitching over a little ribbing? I mean seriously guys? Seriously?....
That's pretty fucking pathetic. If you can;t take some ribbing when your teams lose, stop watching sports.

Had to send down Cliff Lee at one time too. That 2007 team that choked in the ALCS could've REALLY used the Cliff Lee that showed up in 2008.
