Alonso is batting over .300. His defense can't be worse then Gomes. But Fay just said on radio that dusty pulled Gomes aside today and told him he was going to the bench for an extended time. Wish they could put him on the DL.
As for pitchers, Willis had been pitching well, but he took a ball off the leg last night.

I think walt def will need to make a move, but read last week that the trade market will be really weak this year, gm's said.

Volquez has allowed 11 base runners and obtained only 6 outs.

Bench Gomes and play Heisey and Lewis a lot to see if they are good enough.... If not then call up or make trade for a #4 hitting LF

No I'm not surprised at all...and I still would prefer Jeff Brantley being the pitching coach.

I would prefer to have Sappelt up over Alonso. Unfortunately, Sappelt is out w/ an oblique injury right now.

Great start to the season for Edinson! If he ain't the all-star game starter then I don't know who is.

He could and erase our memory of Tom Glavine starting the all-star game

I'm never confident in a player being called being the difference to get a team over the hump or to help carry.

I like Heisey, but he's not exactly played well in a starters role the past couple days. Yes, small sample size, but I really like Alonso and heard he's been practicing in left field quite a bit. I like the idea of his bat being in the lineup, and his defense can't be much worse than Gomes (even though I don't really think Gomes is that bad of a defender).

I forgot about Dontrelle Willis, definitely would like to see him up soon.

I'm not a big heisey fan either, as an everyday starter. I like him giving guys a day off but not playing everyday. His base running makes me want to throw up.

How is Heisey's baserunning sickening?

Stubbs, Phillips and Votto have all recently been retarded on the bases.

He's made numerous base running mistakes. Not that a few others haven't... Phillips
