LMAO $10,000. Let's see any other Booster group in Jefferson County top that donation. I think it's funny how the HATERS can find something negative about a $10,000 donation. Keep it up.

Im far from jealous, you have a great thing that i admire. Top notch program. Its the jackwagon fans that get so defensive. I was just curious if this 10k would be making any contributions to the wrestling program. We have boosters as well, and will be breaking ground for our brand new wrestling room within the next few weeks. Two years ago we built a new football/track/soccer/lockerroom ,concession facility. All donated....we are just a small D-V school...but we can raise money too and support as well....my question was simple enough. No need to get defensive and call me a Hater, when in fact im a fan from afar.

I have attended a lot of booster meetings throughout the years, and I have never witnessed any coach, AD, or school official ask for money and be turned down.

Also, let me add that the $10,000 was in addition to all the money that the Boosters normally donate in the course of the year. This was just a surprise gift to the Athletic Department.

Football provides money for all the sports. Common sense . All the other sports at Big Red probably get just enough gate money to cover general expenses ,such as electricty and refs and small stuff like that ..Maybe our basketball team generates a little extra cash but our football is king and it deserves what it gets. If I want to contribute to the football program I should be able to do that soley ,but I realise it doesnt quite work that way . Your commentary is moot.

Actually, I don't think it is a moot point at all. It was a sincere question. Usually it's "All sport Boosters". Our wrestling team is self sufficent in fundraising to the point of sending The whole TEAM to camp, and paying for hotels and food when on the road traveling for far away competition. As well as purchasing uniforms out of the "wrestling fund" that we fulfill with off season tournaments and our youth league gates and concessions. It is rare that we ask The Booster Club for money.

Congrats on the 10k....but certainly not jealous...not moot...just a question? I know most schools wrestling teams are not self supporting!

Most people contribute to the boosters with football in mind . I mean that is what everybody pays most attention to at our school ,but the money that football brings in takes care of all the sports .All athletes can use the weight room .I think the track team still uses the field house .There are a few schools around that do well finacially in wrestling and basketball.

To note: We also have The Football Mother's Club, who raises money just for football.

The Band has their own Boosters. I believe the wrestling team still has their own organization too.
