What the heck is Brantley talking about that Hanigan hit the ball so hard that the runners didn't get a chance to get their secondary leads? Correct me if I'm wrong the secondary lead happens from the time the pitcher commits to home and the pitch getting to home. What does that have to do with the ball being hit so hard to prevent a good secondary lead?

BP error leads to the 4th run for the Cards, and many extra pitches for Arroyo.

4-2 thru 6 innings. Story of the game is hitting with runners in scoring position: Cards 3/6, Reds 1/9

Of course Votto did a poor job of playing the hop, which was very handleable, which would have completed the DP to end the inning.

Anyone know some numbers on how the Reds fair against teams that don't suck balls? This year and last. Just seems like they hardly ever win big games. Maybe being in a terrible mood is clouding my mind.

Cards add on another insurance run that was mostly caused by the lead-off walk to one of two lefties Bray was brought in to face. Its no travesty for Leake to give up singles to Pujols and Holliday who have a salary of what? Maybe a combined 40 million. The Holliday RBI hit was an opposite field ground ball which Leake was drafted to throw in GABP. That said I think Leake and Chapman need to go down to Louisville - Chapman to get straightened out, and Leake to be in the starting routine to be ready spell a starter when one of them gets dinged up.

Marty says terrible baserunning by Travis Wood who was doubled off by 40' on Heisey's mis-hit to the. What would good baserunning be? Out by 5'? Then if you had "good" baserunning in Marty's estimation and the ball fell instead of maybe having runners on first and 2nd with no out, Wood would have been forced out by 40'!

Gomes needs to only swing at strike breaking balls until he gets two strikes.

Can we just kick Gomes off the team?

Three curveballs and Jonny is toast. Let the first one that was a strike pass, then swung at two out of the zone! Should have been of mindset to pound the first one, ignoring fastballs until two strikes!

Was there nobody else on the bench. I'm ready for Gomes to be sent packing. Love the guy, but his play is killing us

Cordero gets to face the weaker part of the order and allows a runner in scoring position and a walk, before finally getting his zero using 24 pitches. If the Reds don't win it in the 10th, does Dusty send Coco back out in the 11th to face the difficult part of the order?

A great play by Albert to hang up Ramon, then nearly a great play by Mott to tag Ramon between 2nd and 3rd which would have resulted in a quick throw to 2nd to double Heisey!

Dusty was awful but the the Cardinals trumped him by bringing in 60 year old Bautista and then the capper....letting Votto beat you

Dumbasses.

Ramon is so slow it would be really hard to get him to 3rd as aggressively as the Cards were playing infield defense. I think hitting it to the right side was the better bet, and it may go thru for a hit, but Albert made a great play.

I think that real wild guy was stil in.....not sure I would wanna walk votto to load the bases to face BP. That guy had 4 WP in 14 IP and one last night..and two more that were darned close. Votto is darned good but I think ya still gotta pitch to him.
The mistake was walking Renteria.
