I'm hoping he starts and plays well until Pryor takes over... Miller needs all the experience he can get until he's the starter in 2012.

http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Boarding-House-Monday-Edition-25062

According to a current offensive player, after studying the film from the various practice sessions - including the scrimmages - Ohio State's coaching staff has determined true freshman Braxton Miller is going to play right away.

Braxton Miller
Now, does this mean Miller will start the season-opener against Akron? Probably not. The coaching staff will likely ease Miller into action the first two games of the season. Then, if he plays well, he could be getting the majority of the snaps - or might even be the starter - for the game at Miami.

"Well, there is no way he's going to redshirt," the player said. "They've already told him he's going to play, they're just not sure how much. But he knows he's going to play right away. The only thing keeping him from being the starter is knowledge of the offense, but he's going to get that down more and more each day. Getting here for the spring was big for him and then he played pretty well when he was out there."

This player also thinks redshirt freshman Taylor Graham will be in the mix.

"They (the coaches) like him and that big arm," the player said. "He's still going to get his chances, but I don't see how he holds off Brax. Probably what's going to happen is (Joe) Bauserman, Brax and Graham will all play that first game, and maybe the second game, too. Then for Miami they might give the job to one guy."

Will that guy be Miller? Stay tuned, but early reports are positive. It sounds like he's going to get the majority of snaps until senior Terrelle Pryor returns for the sixth game of the season against Nebraska.

** Where does this leave Guiton? ... Two current players inform us they expect third-year sophomore Kenny Guiton to transfer following spring quarter. Guiton fell to third on the depth chart during spring practice (behind Bauserman and Graham, but ahead of Miller) and while he's not openly disgruntled about the situation, he has expressed unhappiness to a few teammates.

"He's knows he's too good to never play," an OSU player said. "Once they dropped him to third on the chart, that was a clear sign to him. And he knows it's probably only a matter of time before Braxton passes him, too. [Guiton] didn't tell me he was definitely going to leave, but he said he's looking into things."

Another player was a little more blunt.

Kenny Guiton
"He's gone," the player said of Guiton. "He wants to play and he knows he's not going to play here. He's still thinking over things and won't make a final decision until summer, but I just don't see him coming back. The chances of him playing are not good and all he wants to do is play. He likes it here at O-State though, so we'll see. But I'm pretty sure he's going to transfer."

If that's the case, it would leave three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster for 2011, in addition to walk-on Justin Siems. Cardale Jones is expected to join the team in 2012 after a year at Fork Union Military Academy.

I'm counting next season as a wash anyways. I'm expecting at least 2 or 3 losses. I say ease Miller in the first 2 games and then start him the rest of the year. Fuck Pryor, Herron, Posey and the rest of the tat five. Let them all sit so their draft stock plummets even further.

Let the players that want to be there and abide by the rules and that respect the OSU traditions and awards play.

Lol. Come on Pick6, they weren't going anywhere. None of those guys had a draft grade that would warrant them entering.

Besides, these guys screwed Ohio State over. I see no reason why it can't go both ways

I think you have a valid point. Very bad form if OSU dumps TP, Posey and co. at this point. I disagree with Jordo there had nowhere to go. I think someone would have taken a chance of TP and I am guessing Posey would have been a mid round pick.

I doubt Miller starts at the beginning of the season. If I were a betting man I would guess Bauserman gets the nod . Of course that's not to say that Miller comes in at some point in the first or second game, tears it up and takes over the starting gig.

I know I'm going to get attacked and called stupid for this...but I really think they are doing Braxton Miller and the OSU football team a dis-service by playing him at Quarterback.

I believe that they should be using him in a role similar to how Florida used Percy Harvin and how Cal used DeSean Jackson. He is that kind of athlete

Let Graham or Bauserman play QB the first 5 games and let Miller tear up opposing defenses running, catching, and even throwing the ball at times.

I think playing Miller at a RB/WR role will make Ohio State a better team than playing him at QB

Soooo....that means "fuck Tress" too right?

I don't know what your opinion is of him anymore, but it wasn't JUST the players who fucked up.

I didn't say they had "nowhere to go." I said their draft grade didn't warrant them leaving early. Why would they leave early to be a late round pick. There is no way in Hades that TP was getting picked before the 4th round to be a QB.

Who had Christian Ponder going 12th? Anything can happen.

right, because Colin Kapernick is better than him, and Christian Ponder was deserving of a top 10 pick or whatever he was. You dont know where he would have been drafted.

^^ I understood what you meant (and for the most part we are on the same page) I just disagree. Nobody thought Tim Tebow was going to be drafted in the 3rd round in 2010 either. I just think some team would have been willing to roll the dice on the guy in fear someone else would pick him up. Worse case scenario, they can convert him to WR or TE.

Well, they would have left early to avoid the 5 game suspension. And all but Thomas would have been mid round picks at worst.

That is a terrible, terrible idea. It makes absolutely no sense to waste the talents of an elite, young QB for a short term solution. Braxton Miller is OSU's QB of the future.

Its not a short term soultion....he should be there his entire career. Much like Pryor should have played WR...Pryor not being there cost Ohio State Matt Barkley

Really...lets see

A QB who had an NFL skill set coming out of High School and will be a Top 5 pick

or...

A QB who still can't throw, has disgraced his school, and will be lucky to go in the first 3 rounds??

Hmm...hard decision...I'll go with option A

IN COLLEGE, like he said, Pryor was better than Barkely, more accomplished, and outplayed him. It has nothing to do with NFL skill set you jackass
