I don't get it. Golden Corral is not cheap. It is 10 bucks a person.. I can go to a decent restaurant for 10 bucks a person that isn't a crappy buffet.

Yea it's not really that cheap.

My mother in law loves golden corral. I don't think she eats her money's worth, but she likes that she can get something she likes an get as little of it as she wants.

Fuck Golden Corral. Went once, never again. Food is not that great, and the sight of a shitload of over 300 lb porkers gorging themselves ruins my appetite.

I took my mom and grandma to the Moose lodge....

They actually do it up nice. Big brunch buffet, every mom gets a flower and a card.

People should be able to take their mom wherever their mom wants to go, if it's Golden Corral, so be it. Why the hell would you care where someone takes their mom for Mothers Day?

I can recall the last time we hit the GC, 1989. Everything slathered in butter and salt. That was the first (and last) time I had to take a dump in the middle of a meal. No idea how people can eat this stuff.

I happen to enjoy Golden Corral.

I do agree that its may not be the proper place to take your mother for Mother's Day, but I love the food

My mom ran 2 Ponderosas when I was growing up, and I worked there while in High School. Mother's Day was the WORST day. We had to come in at midnight and prep food for the next day, and once we opened at 1030, it was a line out the door until about 7:00. As a cook, I wanted to kill myself with 50 steaks on the grill literally all day.
I hated people who took their mom out for dinner just because it made my life a living hell for 10 hours.

I've never gone to a Golden Corral and felt like a piece of shit because I was at a Golden Corral. I think I've eaten at one 3-4 times. Each time the thought was "I feel like getting something to eat but I feel like letting my standards go... Let's go to Golden Corral."

Golden Corral always seemed like a step down from Ponderosa because you couldn't/didn't order something from the grill and just indulged yourself in a buffet.

If your mother appreciates the gesture and you get to spend some time with her, who gives a fuck where you eat dinner.

Don't be such an asshole, take your mom out to dinner more than once a year...you might learn something by spending time with her.
